I don't understand why the USA gets involved in any of the stuff they get involved in.
However, I read a report way back that apparently the US has the knowledge of all of the nuclear facilities (which wouldn't surprise me) and considering the clear lack of capability by the Indian Police and Security Forces, people must be getting VERY worried about such an assault on a nuclear nation.

I'm guessing their on the way. Considering the lackluster response by the Indian police and military, I'm not real comfortable with them having the bomb.

More of the same. Apparently the hostage situation isn't over yet. More fresh explosions and firefights in a few hotels. Reports of up to 20 terrorists escaping.

Yes, decades ago.

The financial support the US gives recently has been to support the collapsing economy, and to leverage access to the tribal areas, no?

Most recently Saudi and China has been supporting the ISI from what I gather.

Agreed Jay, who the heck are these guys? They are fighting like demons, it looks like they are going to give the Japanese on Iwo Jima a run for their money. We are definitely looking at a company sized force at the very least.

God help us if there's anymore of them out there ... not even Chuck Norris, Stallone, Steven Seagal, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Jean Claude combined would be enough to save us if this happened in a US city.

Yeah, if they aren't there already. The US obviously has troops in region. I guess TPTB have probably upped their timeline for this "international incident" that we've been hearing about for a month now.

Yup US is definetly a problem which everyone tends to ignore.First they support terrorists with hi-tech weapons and $plenty funding.Than they complain when the same terrorists turn round aiming the same weapon at them.

Look at Iraq's situation.Where did all those terrorists go who created hell for US troops?

They definetly are not dead. They have been negotiated/paid and deals setteled so that they put down their weapons.

I'm actually astonished that they had enough ammunition to hold their position this long. TWENTY HOURS!
Even for an all out war, that is a long fire-fight.

I've been saying that since this thing started. See who has what to gain from this, or to lose.

See who sends in troops and there you have a culprit. The business of war is a lucrative one.

Elaborating on that I would say that Pakistan actually has EVERYTHING to lose in this situation.

No kidding. Then again the Indian military and police are looking so pathetic right now I wonder if they're even having trouble keeping them pinned down.

I see this as a function of political correctness.

They are damned if they go in guns blazing, or gas them, (elections are coming up), like Russia, or China would do.

They are damned if they attempt to save lives by not gasing them or going in guns blazing.

Its definitely strange that this is still ongoing.

The reports are now that the police have shot and killed all three of the terrorists who fled in the hijacked police van.

The reports about 20 terrorists fleeing aren't reliable in my opinion.

The military has categorically stated that there were 26 terrorists in total at the start of the operation. Reports of a company sized force are exaggerations. A company sized force would have killed more than 100 people ... think about it, that would only be 2 kills per terrorist (kinda low when they have automatic weapons spraying into a crowd).

I wonder why this is still going on... apparently the terrorists are fighting in an extremely professional manner, using flashbangs, smoke nades and covering fire to retreat floor by floor upwards. Their flashbangs are apparently starting fires repeatedly on every floor. This is ridiculous. This level of professionalism is rarely seen in special forces, let alone terrorists.

On each floor the NSG have to scour each room inch by inch to check for hiding terrorists and any bombs left behind (RDX).

The NSG are a formidable force, and there are 200 of them on the scene; but its nearly impossible to fight against the enemy when the enemy is hiding behind hostages.

There has been a danger of underestimating the enemy. Clearly this case shows that these guys are lethal. This is clearly the most highly trained Fedayun unit ever encountered by any nation, bar the Soviets in Afghanistan.
