In November 1953, Frank Olson fell out of the 10th floor window of a New York hotel. First, they said he committed suicide for personal reasons. Now, it's 'on the record' that he died after '___' was slipped into his drink as part of a mind control experiment run by the CIA. Now, it's clear to me and others that Frank Olson was murdered by the agency because he wasn't likely to keep quiet about the things he had seen in his time as a CIA scientist.

After his death, the Olson family was told that he had either fallen out of the window by accident or committed suicide for personal reasons. When they realized that this story wasn't very 'buyable', they gave the Olsons and everyone else a more 'scandalous' explanation. This 'Explanation #2' stated that Olson was a guinea pig of the MKULTRA project.

Despite the fact that 'Explanation #2' seemed to be pretty damning evidence that the establishment was partaking in less-than-honest activities on American soil, but indications that the truth is still being withheld are present.

Documents now reveal that Dick Cheney (Then White House assistant), Donald Rumsfeld (Then White House Chief of Staff), and Roderick Hills (Then White House Counsel) were 'concealing evidence' relating to the incident even after the The documents showed that they were terrified of the possibility that a lawsuit would be filed by the Olsons (Which had the possibility of causing them to reveal more information), so they gave them $750,000 in hush money and gave them meetings with President Gerald Ford and CIA Director William Colby. Ford gave them a 'sincere' apology and Colby gave them the CIA's report on the incident.

What was with all the hush money, worrying over a lawsuit, and concealing of evidence? The scandalous truth had already come out, right? It was an experiment gone terribly wrong, right? No. The "Experiment Gone Wrong" was just Cover Story #2. It was damage control.

A 2002 statement from the Olson family tells us of what really happened to Frank Olson:

"We have satisfied ourselves that Frank Olson was murdered because of security concerns regarding his work,''

So, what evidence points to the idea that Frank Olson was murdered? Check it out:

-White House memos reveal that even after they 'admitted' that the incident was a result of an experiment gone wrong, they continued to conceal evidence and withhold information. They were terrified of the idea that the Olsons would file a lawsuit and they paid them $750,000 in hush money. They also arranged for them to meet with both the President and the CIA director. What did they have to hide after the horrible 'truth' had already come out?

-The day before his death, when he checked into the hotel, he called his wife and told her that he was feeling much better and looked forward to seeing her. This means that the effects of the '___' wore off. It also means that he was not planning to commit suicide. So what does that leave us with?

-James Starrs of the George Washington University and his forensics team exhumed Olson's body in 1994. Their findings showed that Olson was knocked out prior to falling out the window by a blow to his temple. Starrs' conclusion was that Olson was knocked out and then thrown out the window by someone else.

-Eric Olson, the son of Frank Olson, investigated his father's death. During the course of his investigation, he talked to former agents of the American intelligence community who revealed that the CIA hired hitmen to murder his father.

-A declassified CIA assassination manual listed a number recommended ways to assassinate someone. The manual said that the most efficient way to carry out an assassination and make it look like an accident is to have them fall 75 feet onto a hard surface (i.e. Push/Throw them out a window). The document advised the assassin to deliver a blow to the temple of the subject before having them 'accidentally fall'. The blow to the temple is meant to stun them. Is it just a coincidence that this CIA assassination manual was listing exactly how Frank Olson was killed?

-When Olson tried to resign, he said "just let me disappear.". Was the agency inspired to grant him his wish in a way he didn't exactly call for?

WHAT WAS THE MOTIVE?

Frank Olson was a CIA/Army scientist who worked at Fort Detrick on mind control research. Months before his death, he went to the American-British research installation near Germany known as Porton Down. Based on the time this meeting took place, he would have seen experiments being conducted on prisoners.

Evidently, he did and was not happy about it, because his access to the facility was cut when a British agent recommended the higher-ups to stop him from going further. Also, he tried to resign months after. He had been deemed a 'security threat'. The White House memos reveal one thing and that is that the folks in Washington didn't want their covert military projects (Mind control research) coming public. If Frank Olson had seen things that he didn't like in US military bases and in his work as a CIA/Army scientist working on mind control research, and he decided to resign, then he was likely to blow the whistle on covert activities.

The military-intelligence community of the US could not let that happen.

What Really Happened?

Frank Olson saw horrible experiments being conducted on prisoners at Porton Down. He was disgusted by this and decided to resign months afterwards. He asked that they "just let him disappear". They were aware of his disgust for their covert operations, as a British agent had caught wind of his feelings while he was there, and recommended the higher-ups to restrict him from going further. They knew he was going to come public about this sooner or later, and thus, they decided to grant him his wish to "disappear".

A CIA-hired hitman associated with the Trafficante mob family was told where Olson would be going and how to kill him. The method was taken out of the CIA's manual on assassinations. It seemed to be the most efficient course of action for this situation.

The hitman followed Olson to his hotel room. The '___' effects on Olson wore off and he called his wife, letting her know that he was feeling fine. Little did he know, his troubles were far from over. The hitman jumped him and, following instructions, knocked him out with a blow to the temple before throwing him out the window. The White House then put out two cover stories. The hit was a success.

You make it sound like the $750K was 'under the table' hush money, but it was in fact approved by the Senate and House. See SB3035 (May 18, 1976), which specifically authorized $1.25M for the Olson family, later reduced to $750K by the House.

That doesn't mean it wasn't hush money. Public or private, I still call it a payoff.

This is rather an obscure find. How did you run across this?
Can you give reference to where you found this info?

An SB ? Why leave more of a trail.

Okay here's one cite for the 1976 Senate bill info:
Walter Bowart, Operation Mind Control, Dell, 1980, pp90-92

Unfortunate there's no online link to the Congressional Record before the '90s...

As to "why leave more of a trail", I think that reenforces the OP's contention that the 'residual '___' effect' causing Olson's 'suicide' is a second-level cover story, and not the actual truth. After all, they wouldn't do a big public mea culpa unless they'd been caught doing something fairly nasty and had to own up to it, right? Plus remember, this was the 70s, MK was getting a lot of press at the time.

I haven't read this scenario before. What is the source of this info? The more I read of this case, the sadder and more horrific it becomes.
