Toddler with horrific burns sent home from hospital with Calpol and a bandage

www.dailymail.co. uk

A toddler who suffered horrific burns was sent home from hospital with Calpol and bandaged wounds - despite needing a skin graft.

Casey White, aged 17 months, was badly scalded on her face, shoulder and abdomen when she poured boiling water over herself at her nursery last Friday morning.

Her frantic mother Claire White, 24, rushed her to Ipswich Hospital, Suffolk, where an accident and emergency doctor decided not to admit her to a ward.

Another inexcusable case of negligence -

External Link: Warning Graphically Disturbing Image

The photo above clearly shows the extent of the toddler's injuries. How could any competent doctor come to the conclusion that this child did not need emergency treatment?

A friend of mine was in a similar accident as a young child and it goes without saying that his wounds were treated with haste.

Standards are clearly slipping. But why? Human error as claimed? If so, it's one huge error.

Well spotted and thanks for posting!!

The doctor in question should be brought before the Medical council and thrown out.

If society cannot protect the most innocent beings in the world and discipline Adults who harm or do not fulfill the position of caring authority that they have been put in then it is a reflection on all of us.

Innocence does not last very long in the modern world and we should all try and insure the best for all the little beings because we set the guidelines for their future and what society accecpts!!

Once standards drop its takes a VERY long time to get them back!!

In before 'proof that social medicine doesn't work' type posts.

Isn't Ipswich Hospital a Private Finance Initiative hospital?

the medical health services across the world are falling into negligence,it seems to be an intentful campaign, ive read so many stories so much worse than this,it appears as if something(usual suspects) is purposfuly damaging our health in positions of health empowerment.

what better way to depopulate the planet than to infiltrate the services that are responsible for our wellbeing and longevity!

I agree, these cases seem to be cropping up worldwide. Such things are commonplace in third world countries for obvious reasons, but here in the UK, US? It should be unheard of.

We're on a slippery slope, and people need to take responsibility for their actions, or in the this case inactions.
