So many of our problems today are based upon people's false assumption that the Bible we have today is God inspired. Please educate yourselves by reading, "Misquoting Jesus."

Be kind to one another and leave judgments to God. He never asked anyone to represent him. I find it appalling that Christians constantly attack homosexuals as sinners, but pay no attention to the other sins mentioned in the Bible together with homosexuality which most all people engage in. Wake up and stop the attacks. Judge not and be not judged. How you judge others is how you will be judged. Keep that in mind if you believe the Bible is God's word.

What a cruel God you have!
My God is only love, compassion and tolerance!!!
He is the God Jesus talked about.
Your God will be the one he talked about in John 8:31-44 ...

I am a gay Christian and have the Holy Spirit in me. The Holy Spirit did not change me into a heterosexual in the last 16 years.

Christians need to study the bible in context and understand the subtleties of words used by Christ. Read Matthew 19 with special attention to Matthew 19: 11,12. In that day Eunuchs were not just castrated men but a catch-all term used to portray any individual who could not marry, even those "which were so born from their mother's womb...." If you study Matthew 19 in context you will see that even Jesus talks about Eunuchs in a positive light.

For hope and comfort to all misunderstood non-heterosexuals read Isaiah 56: 3, 4, 5.

God Bless and Maranatha!

Sheesh...

TheRedneck

Dude I don't give a crap one way or the other whether christians are compassionate or not, as long as they are prevented from impinging upon the lives of me and my family with their delusions, I'm happy.

So you didn't see jesus in the film ? either you didn't watch it all or you have little faith, jesus is inside you he is a spirit-- you can fill in the rest.

Yes dude I'm from Wales, an occupied country no less, where previous centuries have witnessed the oppression and abuse of the population. Not the least of the oppressors was the Christian movement, which forced itself upon the population by the most hideous forms of murder and torture rape and theft, not unlike the genocide of the Native Americans.

Allthough fundamentalism seems to be on the increase (uk wide) christianity thank god, is waning by the day, and many of the churches are being pulled down or turned into flats and such.
As far as I'm aware the last uk count was that, less than 40% of the uk believe in a god (ref Dawkins), and a rather large chunk of those only see the inside of a church at begrudgingly weddings and funerals.

Yes the Uk is at war with the people of Iraq, thanks to idiots like blair (who's since turned to catholicism lol) who has subsequently been booted out, and as far as I'm concerned should be tried for his deception.

Ron Paul has rightly pointed out, that the Isalmic world has rightly or wrongly, been responding kicking and screaming by the wests interference who have used the beliefs and fears of their own deluded citizens to create tensions between islam and christianity.

But there again you can't be that stupid not to see this can you ?

If there is any apologising to be done, then surely it is from religion, and as I'm in the west I will specify christianity which has for centuries caused untold misery by inforcing itself upon people and intefering with politics.

Here on ATS we have yet another very long debate over this interferance, which is a result of a religious belief system imposing upon others who reject it.

Christianity is now getting the rightly deserved big finger, have you views by all means, discuss your views with others should you wish. But when others reject your belief respect them and walk away don't try to inforce it on them by using positions of influence etc.

What could be simpler than this ?

"Thank you for enlightening us as to your religious beliefs but we're happy to live our lives the way we do. You think we're wrong we think your deluded, goodbye"

There is a conspiracy to suppress the truth in unrighteousness and for this reason the wrath of God is being visited upon the earth - quite noticeably in the United States as we have exchanged the truth for a lie beginning with the banning of school prayer in the 1960s and currently with the ACLU's efforts to have wild atheistic speculations exchanged for science.

There is never and there has never been a ban on school prayer. You are allowed to pray at public school when ever and where ever you want, you can pray as a group in athletic games, you can form a prayer club. You can read the bible, the quran, the Torah – what ever things you want to where ever you want, in your public school.

Hell go to you public school library, there’s probably a bible there! It is a lying propagandas piece of BS that says there has ever been a ban on school prayer.

What there is a ‘ban’ on is mandatory prayer. Public school which are a branch of the government right, funded by the government are not allowed to lead or force prayer in school but anybody can pray anytime they want to.

This is sort of like if I went to your house and forced you to watch pornography day after day after day, I forced you to watch pornography for years and then one day I said you, know what I’m not going to force you to watch pornography – you can watch it or you can not watch it, it’s up to you and then you come up to me and complain why did you ban pornography.

I’m curious as to why this myth that there is a school ban on school prayer was propaganded, because a lot of Christians believe that you can not pray at school – I mean this is a real belief of there’s. And it’s perpetuated by the Christian leaders and the Christian community.

You would think that if they really thought there true motivation were to get people to pray, they would let the Christians know they’re allowed to pray. If more prayer equals good they would tell people the truth that there’s no ban on school prayer, you can pray at school whenever you want. But it’s not there goal, there goal is to have an extra foothold with the youth. Because what happens in school – no bodies praying right, no body prays because the youth would much rather go and play grab ass and smoke weed behind the bleaches then pray and Christians do not want to face this fact.

So they have to, they have to get back mandatory school prayer, because right now half of everybody under 25 is not a Christian in America and it’s going to get so much better in the years to come!

And the toper, the toper to all of it is that Christians can then go and act like they are being persecuted by the evil atheist minority, when no such thing has happened.

And I love how you kept saying the muslims are responsible for a huge death toll, but you won't comment on the fact that a christian brought us into Iraq; where more people have died then in any muslim attack in the past 10 years. So even though the muslims flood the news, since thats what the government wants us to see; the christians are still way way ahead on the death toll. Last word mine.

If you don't want to convert to Christianity, I'm fine with that. While you are more than welcome to do so, I don't remember asking you to.

All I am saying is that recent history shows the Muslim extremists to be much more violent and much less compassionate than Christianity. Right now, I am watching CNN to get the latest news on the latest attack by Muslim extremist forces. So far 125 dead, 327 wounded, and not a Christian aggressor in sight. The Taj Mahal, one of the most exquisite examples of architecture at its best in the world, and what I consider symbolic of the 'golden age' of the Persian peoples, has been damaged by fire. I have heard of at least one hospital devoted to women and children which was attacked as well.

And then you, by your ignorance and refusal to look beyond your own nose, lump me in with these animals by that asinine statement that Christians are just as violent as Muslims? How dare you! You have earned my disgust. And yet, as a Christian, I cannot hold you any ill will. You are forgiven, whether you wish to be or not.

Enjoy your ignorance and your hatred, as they seem to be all you can see or care about. I'm sure the latter will keep you warm on cold nights, but the former only serves to emphasize the OP of this thread. Homosexuality may not be some great punishment from God, but certainly your ignorance is evidence that He has allowed you your free will. You do not even realize that I would agree with you on many of the other points you brought out, and such now never will change a thing.

I've made a promise not to ignore anyone on ATS, I feel it's little different that personal censorship. I'm foe-button-happy though, I've not negelected to exercise my right to foe people.
