I find it odd. Isn't the liberal media supposed to be pro-Democrat? They seem to hate all things Clinton because the right wants her. I don't mind Clinton. Why is the liberal media against Obama? What has he ever done to them to get them all mad at him for considering Clinton as the Secretary of State job?

Why another thread that starts with a question?

The liberal media wanted him to get elected. Now they have to go back to the illusion of being objective.

Clinton is not getting the job to appease the media or conservatives. That really doesn't make any sense at all. Clinton is getting a high level spot because that was the deal between them to get Clinton to campaign for him.

1. Why do you think the media is liberal?
They are controlled by the ruling elite.
2. If they hated Obama why did they put him on the cover of Time magazine 6 times.
3. Both Clinton and Obama are puppets of the CFR

There's a liberal media? Huh. I suggest you watch the film "The Myth of the Liberal Media" and also "Orwell Rolls in His Grave." If you can't find it on youtube or google video check it out at informationclearinghouse.info

Ummm the 'right' hates Clinton(s). They just preferred her to Obama for president because they considered her less liberal. Where are the sources for the media now 'hating Obama'? Every time I look at a news site or turn on the TV all I see is Obama. If indeed you are correct about the media disliking Hillary for the new position, it is only because it seems like a gesture by the Obama administration to appease her supporters. Either that or they are also terrified of the exclusively liberal government we now have in place.

I've been watching/listening to progressive media. Mostly Democrats are split right now. We either think Clinton is a great pick or we think that Clinton will disagree on Obama's policy issues. It just seems to me that there are Democrats out there that don't want Hillary, they would rather not have these Clintonites. To some people on our political spectrum they see Clinton as more of the same.

You need to do a tad more research on the "Clintons". And while you're at it; Read a copy of Shakedown. (same corrupt individuals behind 'Bama)You must have your facts and homework done before offering a reasonable comment or question.

Why does every thread you open contain one or more sweeping generalizations?

Why would anybody want to read the rest if the title of the thread already contains three untruths:

"The" media does not exist. There are millions of different media outlets with varyiing opinions and varyiing degrees of liberalism or conservativism or something in-between.

"The liberal media": Doesnt exist.

"The liberal media hates Obama": Utter nonsense. There is a difference between critical reporting and hate.

Here`s a generalization of mine:

Why am I starting to hate your reading your threads?

I may need to do more research on these old guards that he might put in Washington. My hope is that he maintains a balance between his change agents and these old guards and he doesn't let these old guards rule over him.

Okay... you know what I meant. It just is surprising to see the supposed biased media go after Obama's picks. I guess the idea of liberal media really is a myth.

It would seem they go after whoever happens to be President at the moment.

After 8 years of Bush, the media becomes "liberal". After 8 years of Obama you'll hear "The media is conservative".

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Your generalizations truly hinder the ability to discuss issues. Focus less on the terms you are using and more on the actual content, a better discussion will prevail.

As for this "liberal media" that hates Obama, where?

I am a supporter of Obama but I was annoyed by the overt bias that the media showed throughout the course of this election. In the democratic primaries he was the obvious favorite over Clinton and in the general election there was no doubt that he was preferred over McCain.

Now that he has been elected and the media has accomplished what it has set out to do, he'll be treated as the typical president-elect and his decisions will be scrutinized.

Can you provide us examples of this liberal media that is hating on Obama?

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

I'll try to. Maybe the term hate is too strong of a term but I think that the "liberal" media has been really critical about some of his ideas. I've heard even people on progressive shows say they don't necessarily agree with his plan on Afghanistan. They also don't know whether his economic stimolous plan is going to work or not, but, I mean, that's not just the liberal media doing that but it's all the media doing it.

I haven't noticed a bias towards Obama. I've thought that the media was against Obama for his association with Jeremiah Right. I've always wondered why that is such a big deal. They treated it as such. Whatever happened to his freedom of religion and his freedom to associate with everyone whom he wants to? CNN had people bashing Obama on their show. I've heard numerous things like with Lou Dobbs bashing Obama for having policies that are like socialism, and, I've seen a program on Fox News "Obama and Friends" all about Obama's alleged ties (which were later proven false) but still the story trickled to all the news media outlets, even the "liberal" ones, and they all got on him.

So you see, I haven't really seen any kind of bias towards Obama, I've always seen a bias against him. The only bias that I've seen that was against him was after the election. But even now a lot of people in the Democratic party don't exactly like Clinton. They are being way more critical on him than the people on the conservative media are being on him for choosing Clinton. They are attacking him for giving out all the leaks, and, they are making it seem like this whole Clinton thing is such a big deal.

I blame the Clintons for all this criticism that Obama has been getting lately. I think if it weren't for that there would be a lot less drama and gossip among the "liberal" media outlets.

I don't think the media is "hating" on him right now, but I do think they are disappointed.

I've seen it in this thread already, so we don't need to go over how biased they were for Obama during the elections. The fact that they need to return to some sort of neutral ground now is also a factor in this.

What I think is really crawling under their skin right now though are his appointments. I think they were really expecting him to come in and fill the White House with "progressives". His appointments so far though seem to signal that the will try to govern more towards the center than the far left though. I think they are upset that he isn't turning out to be the extreme liberal they wanted yet.
