A thought.. First off, As for whether or not Germans have motive, for one, they have a historical precedent for being rather aggressive as a society. Yeah, yeah blah blah, stereotypes, whatever.

Secondly, It is a well documented fact that WW2 is, if not ignored entirely by the German education system, is very, very poorly covered. Many people I know who were stationed in Germany on military duty have commented on the dynamic rift between younger, uninformed generations, and the older ones, who actually saw, and remember what the world was like for Germany from the 30's onward. They have also frequently commented on the sense of resentment on the part of the younger generations, who genuinely do not understand the various political strangleholds imposed on their country, nor do they understand the American presence on German soil.

Third, yes, it has been mentioned many times already, yes, after WW1, Germany surprised everyone, why can't they do it again, etc, etc. However, I should mention that they do maintain a limited level of tank production, still designing and producing tanks. (Leopard, anyone?) And, of course, with the secret shenanigans we've found Russia up to, who's to say other countries aren't doing the same. It's a foolish assumption on our part to assume that, just because we're America, we know everything that's going on everywhere. That is a mistake, and one that is a classic strategic mistake, dating all the way back past The Art of War. Overconfidence is a bitch, don't assume we're on top of it, just because it's America.

There is no chance that Germany would ever start another WW... and to edit a previous thought the Germans hate the fact that any of this stuff had happened and basically worship the people that tried to assasinate the figureheads (hitler/himler etc).

The only people that we really need to worry about are the extremists/terrorists... these are the people that are cowards and don't fight fairly. We take an ass whooping to them with full military support, yet they retaliate with cowardly IED and terrorist attacks...
