Crashing meteor lights up Canada sky

Scientists say they are searching for remnants of a meteor that brilliantly lit up the sky before breaking into pieces that may have fallen to earth in western Canada.

University of Calgary planetary scientist Alan Hildebrand called it one of the largest meteors visible in the country in the last decade.

Thought this was pretty cool. The event was actually caught on a policemans dashboard camera and its amazing how bright this meteor was.

It was apparently one of the largest meteors visible in Canada over the last 10 years and was fantastic to actually see footage of this.

Scientists are searching for pieces of the meteor in hope to learn more about the history of our solar system

Also, anyone in the area.....it was a meteor, not a UFO

Obviously this story is a few days old now. Yesterday the news was reporting the meteor fell somewhere in Edmonton. I was sort of astonished when they said they were trying to pinpoint the exact location of the meteor. That was just yesterday, lest our news travels slowly. Googling the article, I find nothing more than youtube links about the visual - appropriate. But never did I hear them confirm they had found the impact site? Was just curious if anyone heard differently...
