Another thing I am curious about is when you go into the commanders house near the base to get your bobble head, in his safe you will find the nuclear launch codes. I wonder if in the future you will be able to use them somewhere and launch a few nukes around the map.

Hmmm.. You know Im not sure if that is the case or not..
I do know the one town you can nuke is Megaton.. But we have covered that already..
I tried to do some looking into that.. But came up with nothing..
However there is so much to this game, I could be wrong, and you could send some more nukes a flyin!!!

Xbox live came out with a cool help video on how to get the multi mini nuke launcher. I believe it shoots no less that 8 mini nukes at once. Very cool.

hmm, you guys must be finding more of the mini nukes then I have then.

If I put all I found into a salvo I'd still be a couple short no doubt..

I've been following this thread with some interest lately. My computer can't run fallout 3 (or at least not without investing in some equipment that I can't afford) and I don't have a console to play it on. Played Fallout 1 and 2 a lot though. This brings me to what I wanted to say.

I was poking around on You-tube and found out something. It's possible to escape the vault as a baby. Yep! The part where you are supposed to walk to daddy? One person managed (I'm not sure how) to scoot past him, down the hall and escaped the vault. The only problem (other than getting past dad) was 3 maybe 4 rad roaches. He managed to get past them. Goto the overseers office, unlock the vault door and made it out. Inspired by this, it seems that some people have decided to see how far they could get as a baby once your out in the wasteland. One person defused the bomb in Megaton city!

Just thought that I'd bring this to your attention for yucks and giggles.

LOL that is kind of funny! I will look into that.. Being PC version IM sure you can do stuff like that.
However I think the Xbox/playstaion versions are bit more coded to where I dont think you can get out of the vault as a child still.
The triggering affects when you get to a sertin point will trigger the next event.
However with a PC version, you can pretty much go into Debugg mode, and walk threw walls, and in turn not trigger the trigger section.

I dont think my PC will run this game.. As thats why I got an Xbox360..
My PC is good for researching, reading, and you know porn.. heheh

Thanks for sharing that for kicks and giggles, good stuff Deson!

Hopefully this should work. I don't think it uses any walk through wall bits. Just apparently a good sense of timing.

Edit to add:

After reading some of the comments it was done on a PC with no cheats. At least one person has succeeded doing it on a 360.

Also to add:
"When your father is walking back after you look at the SPECIAL book, he opens the hallway door and the door to your room. The trick is to go through the door to your room and close the door before he steps into it. Him stepping into the doorway to your room closes the hallway door instantly, so it's hard to pull off. This is why you see the door close quickly right at the start of the video. This was done on the PC, obviously."

OH no!!! You didnt have to delete your charater my friend..
All you have to do is create a new game profile and there you have it!
A fresh new game, and you get to keep your other charaters!!!

So next time around, just make a new profile! And dont delete all that hard work you put in!!!!

I have like 5 game profiles, with 5 different Fallout 3 games.
Eachone is very different, and I have seen many sides of the same coin to this game..

Very important if you dont want to delete your charaters!

Just create a NEW profile!!! And you can sign in and out of different profiles for new and different charaters!!!

Raised by Molerats? In this case it must be a pair of brothers are fighting.

It seems that in order to show the Baby look the program shows you as a very little guy. That's how you get the viewpoint of a baby.

Glad to share!

no worries.. it was only 36 hours that i deleted. and to be honest i still hadnt uncovered a lot of the game. just enough to know how to do it perfect the next time.

Plus i wrote up a game plan on how to get ALL the trophies. its easier for me to keep track of my saved progress when its just one profile. i save just before i level up to 8,14,and 20 and effect my karma, and then reload and continue. personally i want a good character and im only doing the save strategy to get the trophies due to the differences in karma.

im still tripping off the little mini fallout guy.lol wow

haha Right on!!! Yeah when I first started playing the game, I put in about 15 hours on my first charater.. Then after doing a whole bunch of stuff, and not being happy with the turn out. I did end up deleting that guy and started new.. It turned out I was much happier the 2nd time around..
Then the 3rd, 4th and 5th time was the charm!!!

Just so much to this game, that I was happy playing threw many times as I have!! And still, I could do another run threw on this game, and still be very happy, and find stuff I didnt find before..

Such as I didnt realize that they "familly" Is a referance to Charles Manson and his crew.. Manson called his little cult.. The Famliy.. hehe

And in this Game, You can go in there and kill everyone like I did the first time around.. I just killed them all becasue I thought they where Sicko Vampire wanna be! Turns out they are not all that "bad".
And will end up defending Aruafu.. Errr however you spell that little town.

Plus the main guy will teach you how to make a shishkabob.
And teach you how to get +20 HP from blood packs presay only 1 HP!

However I belive we had already covered that part!

But as right now, Im taking a little break from Fallout.. I just got a new game last night.. Last Remnant!
Turns out, its a pretty cool game.. Same guys who made FF games.

And Im just a sucker for RPG games!!!
Give me a weekend off work, and an RPG game, and Im set!!!

Hell I use to party and go out all the time when I was younger..
So I have nothing against sitting at home and playing my video games.

Plus my new girlfriend she loves games too! So she will sit with me and watch me play for hours...
Gotta love that!! A chick who loves games, and is content watching you play for hours on end.. And doing little silly comitary during the scenes!!

But she sits on the laptop and plays on her Sim games, or plays around with some of her FF games..

After Xmas we are both getting the Xpack for WOW again.. And going to start back up playing WOW after the new year..

She and I love playing multi player games together..
And shes damn good!! She ends up beating up on me for a change!

Let me know how this time turns out for ya man..

And be sure to log anything new you find in this thread!
The more info the better!!! woot and grats!

see we have something in common, i married my 'cool gamer girl' this year in august.
she sits on the computer and plays her games and i play mine. in fact shes gonna love the fact that the 'family' is in fallout cause she is obsessed with serial killers.

i played LOST ODYSEE back when i had an xbox and she would sit and watch me play too. its nice when they enjoy just watching.

mostly though she goes in the back bedroom to watch tv, but shes cool with loud games like COD 4-5... although i did go over board when halo 3 came out. were talking till like 4-5am with volume at medium range.

i have found that shooting super mutants who intend on throwing grenades..shoot em in the hand and just blow em up. works everytime.

also heres a formula which helps determine the starting statistics for your character..

[(stat + 1) 2] + luck = starting points.
example

strength (7) plus 1 = 8 x2 = 16 plus luck, lets say your luck is a 4

equals 20 for the starting skill set in the game. get it. found it online.

so keep that in mind when you build your S.P.E.C.I.A.L skills in the beginning.

skill sets which reflect the corresponding ability.

big guns =endurance , so do the endurance number example (6) and plug it into the equation and all abilities which correspond to endurance will read the same.

statistically i found that 2626888 is a great way to go S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
