Ok, since noone has said it, I couldn't help myself.
This screams T-cell virus to me
Yeah yeah, I know, hollywood and all that, but what if somehow the cells work the same way they do in resident evil, personally, I feel nothing good
can come out of this.
Lets say that you can somehow afford this treatment, what then? You have to live through a pain worse than death itself, which is watching your loved
ones die before you, your parents, your siblings, your wife/husband and possiby even your children.

Personally I think this mass telomerase-producing enzyme would be anything like the Krippin Virus in the movie I Am Legend. (I LOVE THAT MOVIE!)
What's more interesting is that it mentions that having too much telomerase could increase cancer risk. And right away when I read cancer i thought
of i am legend.

The massive pressures placed on the world from immortality will only increase demand to alleviate those pressures. Such is a fundamental law of
economics and even more importantly, of social behavior. If I were given the chance to live forever, I would unhesitatingly pull the trigger on those
who wish to see me die, and without even a hint of moral recourse. Humanity will go through a massive paradigm shift. Think about all the businesses
that would no longer profit because people no longer die. Think about all our artificial social institutions, such as the nuclear family, which would
lose all of their relevance within the context of an immortal life. Things would change. The only problem is with people like you that think all of
that is impossible.

You think the death of your loved ones is worth dying over? If you don't want to live after that, then it's your choice. But by that logic you
willingly admit that your opinions should not be able to shape the wishes of others. Personally I would want to live even if every other person on the
planet disappeared. I don't want to sound harsh, but there is more to life and conscious existence than a volatile dependency on the first people
you've ever known. I'd imagine that there would be some sort of welfare institutions, which deal with such emotional transitions. Each stage of life
would be characterized by highly emotional transitions, and there would be a vast support network for people that are going through them.

Dumb arses. Spending all that money, time, and energy meanwhile people across this globe are dying from starvation when we have more than enough to
feed them. Greed at its finest. The funny thing is, I hope that they will be allowed to go through with it and that it will bite them in the
arse.
We are obviously here for a reason and we obviously physically die for a reason... I think I would rather trust the natural process than to drink from
*that* "cup."

What a sentimental notion... Fortunately for us all, there really is no reason. I want immortality. It should be the maxim of every living, conscious
being, especially that of the very few, like us, that have through millions of years of evolutionary history finally acquired self awareness. It's
beautiful. It's something that should be eternally preserved.

Im a believer that death is not the end.
Why does death scare everyone? I know that we can only find out, when it's our time, but do you honestly think that when your dead ... that it?
Blackness ... nothingness?
People tend to fear what they dont understand. To manipulate DNA in anyway could be our worst creation.
Same here, im really not scared of what death brings. I mean, i am 'scared' for the people who are hurt by my loss, i would be scared if i die some
tortured death, but what comes after and death itself... doesnt scare me, I know theres more.
Even if there's not more, man it'd be nice to finally sleep.
