Lol, emo and athiesm are not even in the same catagory...

Emo is short for "emotional." Emo was a subgenre of punk music, but has come to be a catchall term for any whiny teenager on the block, especially the "drama queens" who would cut themselves for attention.

Wiki is your friend.

Emo's are a rare breed found in nature.
Unfortunately their number's are on the rise.
Due from ranges of scoial outcasting to to much titty milk from mommy.

To offset such said condition one should punch an emo's giblits tell him to think of the kids in africa starving and teenagers dying in the world wars.

Prepare for a conditioned reaction of tears and uncontrollable sobbing. Follwed by incoherent whining and muttering of patheic problems such as, the hairdresser couldn't cut my bangs to cover my one eye right, she must hate me, the whole world hates me.

Apply the technique of the reality shake. Firmly grasp shoulders with hands and shake.....shake some more......and say "Wake up turd nugget, your on a planet floating around a star ripping through the universe at colossal speeds, with infinite possibilities!!! Do you wanna go down as a limp dick or loosey goosey vag with no back bone"

That should at least have them Man or Woman up, or give them the push they need to remove themselves from the universal equation.

Well, I learned something today. At first I thought OP misspelled elmo, that fuzzy thing on sesame street. Been a few years since we had kids living at home but I will know what to look out for if grand kids start acting up.

i think the "emo" term emerged in the 80s - is that right??

people who listened to "emotional rock" were deemed "emos", from what i know..

Emo (emotive) started out as a genre of music in the mid 80's/mid 90's, but has since evolved into a sub-culture amongst younger generations who are influenced by a relatively new music scene characterized by emotional/whiny lyrics. It's more of a fashion statement/musical taste than a state of mind.

An atheist is someone who is non-theistic and has nothing to do with emos. An atheist is one who abstains from worshiping a deity.

emo kids are the perfect demographic.
you can market to them and they think they're not being marketed to, because it's "their rebellious scene", and how could anything that correlates with their style and attitude come from a marketing ploy.. it's impossible !

its a NSA / CIA's wet dream to have these kids de-testosteroned and all focused on their little dramatic relationship problems, how long their bangs are, how clever their lyrics are or what unheard of band they're privy to say they like.

they'll be easy masses mopped up when the mil/ind- com steamroller comes through town in the next couple years.

when i see / hear them i'm either nauseated / annoyed or amused at the unconscious pathetic self delusional vacancy apparent.

EMO college kids are fun as hell to bully.

I see them in the mall all the time and I realize my mission in life is to milk the whiney BS out of them as much as possible.

I was going to say large flightless birds but then I re-read the OP. Emo's are just a group of kids who feel that they are neglected, unwanted, and misunderstood. Their choice of clothing and music is just an expression of that feeling. I find it funny that there are more emo kids from suburbia who live in 6,000 sq/ft homes and got new cars for their sweet 16. Poor misunderstood well to do kids. I wouldn't be crying if I grew up in a place that nice.

WHY oh WHY is this a post on a website called ABOVE TOP SECRET?!

My question is why is in the CiR forum?!?!? They are in no way a religion. In fact each individual has thier own views on religion.

My next question is why do they insist on rebelling against the world and insist on being unique and individual yet they all dress and act the same?!?

Man sorry bout your luck. As a Gen-Xr myself, I have one beautifully adjusted child. He deals with whatever good or bad fortune comes his way with amazing maturity. He feels so blessed that he tells me this every night.

Then again, I read to him every night, I include him in family decisions, and he plays helping role in anything the family does.

As a matter of fact, last weekend, I woke up to the sound of this 10 yo doing his own laundry. When prompted, he said "I can't go play video games until my work is done now can I?"

So then I went down and cooked him a breakfast.

Actually it has everything to do with conspiracy thousands of kids didn't wake up one day saying they wanted to wear tight pants, lip rings and scars. This is a direct reflection of the influence of media....

So the beatniks were also part of the same conspiracy?

Or are all of these simply responses of the "younger generation" which has always been looked at as problematic since the time of Ancient Greece.
