She is a beauty!! How long did it take you to put it up?

The thing I loved the most about the holidays that still stands to this day are all of the holiday goodies that get made.

We always go way overboard on the cookies and gingerbread men and home made fudge and pecan pie and so on and so on. My mom always had a habit of making enough junk food every year to feed a small army so the tradition still lives on. It gets painful after a while but in a good way.

Question I have always wondered about....what do you folks add to the egg nog where you are from? We use a splash of shine down here (store bought though..usually not the good stuff).

i just love it.

do you got it in your house already?

i would love that too, but tradition in germany says: christmas tree on christmas eve.
but you can buy them everywhere!

another thing i really like: it is a feast all over the world, and unlikely all the other global feasts humans really try to be united in love and peace and that mosts wars stop even for a couple of days.

and light is coming back, the days get more and more light each day!

i have never tasted real eggnog
i met eggnog the first time when i was on a vegan newslist.

20 ounces silken tofu
16 ounces vanilla soy milk
2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup rum (optional)
1/2 cup brandy (optional)
Freshly grated nutmeg

everything mixed together - tofu is like a cream than, chill it enjoy it!

but i simply love it
since i don.t drink that much i just take a little bit of brandy for my eggnog and get another bottle for the son without alcohol.

so thanks to my american friends to give me another christmas tradition!

Hello Orange..Its an artificial tree, We usually cant get real ones until the day after Thanksgiving, My local fire department sells real trees every year but times are a bit tough this years so I decided to save fifty dollars and put up an artificial tree, Yes real trees are very expensive in some places here in the states..I hope to see pictures of everybodys christmas trees on here soon!!!!!

Im pretty bad with gifts, I like to give them early, My younger brother is coming home from overseas and i have not seen him in two years so Im looking forward to spending time with him so after he comes home and sees all his lady friends and gets settled we will probably exchange gifts on Christmas Eve. Im looking forward to seeing all the houses decorated with lights and I would love to see some snow but anymore we have not been getting too much snow but it would add to the good old fashioned Christmas feeling.
