Now that I think of it, yeah, let everyone get fat and lazy... let them feel it's acceptable.
Then I can slap people for being stupid whenever I want, cause they simply can't chase me without having a heart attack.
Imagine being the only one in your neighborhood who can actually do more than waddle.
Heck, no need to run, just walk away.

Okay well all those who agree with the Canadian decision hands up who is prepared to pay double for their airfares because that's what's fair for
airlines.

How often we hear that "you can't legislate morality." Apparently, johnsky is prepared to legislate fitness.
And by golly, what a perfect venue for attacking the sins of the oblate--air travel. Way to go! That'll help airlines fill vacant seats on empty
flights, wont it?
Make someone else pay.
In the name of "responsibility."
Its a size war.

the adrenal glands. It messes with the metabolic system, first. Many people could have major hormone secretions that they don't know about, most
doctors don't know to look for it.
Like the PP said, steroids make you gain weight, and they make you want to it. And it is almost impossible to ignore.
Of course when you live in a place where there is no food available you don't gain weight. They also don't have medical care and checkups and most
people are dead and buried before they even have a chance to gain weight.
Well this is of course mostly nonsense but it's exactly the kind of crapola that enables fat people to believe they are victims and condemn
themselves to an early, uncomfortable and embarrassing death.

a few episodes of the "Biggest Loser" to realize that it only takes a better diet and some "get off your assedness" to drop the pounds.
Either that or you know, actually do some research on health and nutrition.
affliction.. LOL
I say charge em triple, and pay me the extra for being squished when they sit next to me. Maybe they'd run out of cash and not be able to buy the

Have another doughnut? Be careful, your maturity is showing.
I am sure all the endocrinologists out there would love to know that you have it all figured out and they can start another career now.
Seems your in a perfect mental, social and physical health that you attack people right up front, and assume you understand the welfare and health
status of an entire population of people.
And you seem to be shortening your own lifeline by damning and condemning an entire population, for reasons that has absolutely nothing to do with
you.
And since you can't seem to formulate a real reason for your hositilty,or give a reasonable reply, all you can do is give the ever over educated
response of: have another doughnut.
I could go on and get all analytical on you and say that people don't like in others what they don't like about themselves. Maybe the ugliness you
perceive on their outside is what you feel on the inside?
But I am sure your response is going to be, I dunno...go suck an egg?
Sorry, your gonna have to do better then that to be taken seriously.

You think this is fair? Here in the UK we pay taxes and National Insurance which go towards the National Health Service. The NHS has to rent extra
large beds and equipment for obese people at £100+ a day. All this will do is push the price up for everyone else. I PAY to go to the gym, I am not
one of these guys that stand there kissing my muscles and flexing in the mirror either. Why should I, we have to pay for people who do not look after
themselves. Surely if you are able enough to get on a plane to go on holiday you are able to get off your arse and do some execise.
No, watching telly and stuffing your face is easier.

*yawn* hey look cleatus, more fatty bashing nincompoops who seem to think putting others down increases their self worth.
Well kiddos, here's the deal and you all just have to life with it.
there's overweight people out there.
Why they are isn't really any of your business, and they don't care what you think either.
myself dealing with airlines, I'm just above average height but rather much more broad shoulders than average, and back in my teen years, having some
very physical jobs, I still have some thick arms, and such. Yeah, I can fit my butt in teh airline seat just fine, but my upper body is still going to
jam the person next to me over quite a bit.
and you know what? just to be a douchebag, I take window seat and get on the plane as soon as I can, so I can take that seat, and woe be to the person
next to me. I just don't care.
my knees hit the seat in front of me too, and im average height. so guess what, when some fartknuckle wants to recline their seat back, i just move my
knees up a bit so they can't. if they turn back and ask me to let them recline, guess what, the answer is no.

CoffinFeeder,
Good one. Heart of gold there. Truely inspiring. You will begrudge a fellow passenger who paid the same amount the right to put their seat back but
offer a free seat, probable the window one to someone for free because they abuse their body. Top bloke!. I love it.

The airline seats only recline about 2 inches so I don't know why folks get their ass up around their earlobes about people reclining in front of
them. The difference in space is minuscule. Maybe they should make seats that don't recline while they are making the extra wide seats for the robust
passengers.

All I can say is this; The airlines do take the piss, but, they do not deserve to have to be forced to let those, who also take the piss with their
lifestyles, let them fly for the same price as a regular person who takes one seat, when in fact these piss takers take up two seats.
Sure it may be a case of small airline seats, not likely the real cause, since I have flown many times and found the seats to be adequate in size.
Sure the leg room can do with as mentioned a few times.
Hey I know, maybe when they go to buy a car next time and they find they cannot fit into it, they can sue the maker on the basis that they
discriminate against obese people, by not designing the cars to their minority needs rather than the majority of healthy weighted peoples needs. Hey
maybe they can get a ruleing they are entitled to two cars for the same price since they cannot fit into one car alone?
It is time these obese people took charge of their self inflicted conditions (90% at least are self inflicted, the others who have valid reason,
please do not take offence it is not aimed at you). Rather than spew vilification towards the average person, for not wanting to accept your lazy and
low self esteemed look at the world.

While it may be true the seats may only recline two inches, I wish this was the same for obese people who are eight inches over the armrest into MY
seat.
If only airline seats had barriers instead of arm rests, that way fat people could squeeze themselves into the space if they want, while not affecting
anyone sitting next to them. Almost like your own personal booth.
If we can contain the fat within their own space, then problem solved.

They need to stop the BS and just have dimension / weight limits with a sliding scale for price. If your that big you should pay for that much more
seat. It's crazy to have to lay down to these people. Guess what? Don't fly then.. The seats are the size they are. Next will be the city buses
and the subways etc etc etc. Maybe the local baseball or hockey stadium should have the same rules and only charge 1 price for two seats right?
I can't believe anyone could honestly believe this is acceptable..
You can't check your bag without paying a premium for size and weight now because of gas. What weighs more the bag or the obese individual? Maybe
it's the individual and their bags.. When a fat person takes up two seats and only pays for one the airline loses money and everyones fairs go
up.
When you go to the amusement park you can't be over a certain weight or height for some rides. If you are too "large" for the seat, don't fly..
Go take a boat..
I say give them the option for paying for 2 seats or let them travel in cargo below.

I'm completely serious here, but I'd be happy for a fat person to get two seats if they paid for them. They usually smell bad due to the sweat that
constantly pours from them. Now - is that a good thing? Would you complain if a skinny person stank? I would. So smell is one issue and hygiene can be
controlled by carrying a deodorant.
We didn't used to have fat people by the millions. We had different food back then and no welfare either. It's not genetic 99% of the time, it's
bad management and bad eating habits. I belong to a church where a heap of people are Pacific Islanders - they are mostly thin. The churches that are
around us are full of fat lazy people. Why aren't ours? - because they are taught to eat right, exercize and work for a living and that's all their
is to it because I have seen it for myself.
I do feel sorry for some fat people and wonder what kind of life they might have if they shed the goopy stuff. My God, some of them might even begin
to play with their kids!!
And I call them fat because they are. Call something for what it is. Gays are homosexual, a homocide is a murder, obese are fat, lawyers are greedy,
deferred success is failure, 'let go' is fired.
And to those who are above normal weight for their height or worse (fat) remember that someone with Autodysomophobia or Claustrophobia or more
appropriatly.. Cacomorphobia, might want your seat for free on their next flight! And being something they can't control, they should have your seat
for free!!
Any complaints anyone?

OK let's break this down a bit.
What seems to upset most people in the thread, is not that some people are fat, but that some people are receiving a benefit for being fat. A benefit
that non-fat people are being asked to pay for.
Those defending this 'perk' argue that being fat is an affliction, and that fat people are helpless to their condition.
Others, like myself, claim that being fat is a choice.
For those that disagree, and like to bash me and others for our views, here's a challenge:
Give me custody of ANY fat person for 6 months, with the same funds that would be spent on them in any medical institution if they are 'afflicted'
by some medical condition, and I guarantee they will have lost considerable weight at the end of the period, be much much healthier and on their way
to taking responsibility for their size and their health.
