So what you guys think its just a stage setup to let us know that we are not alone and Mars is having its own civilization

Civilization? Naaaaaah....

What it is, maybe some bacteries/microbes/other primitive life forms, but no civilization. That said, who knows, in 2 or 3 billions of years, when the sun will be a bit bigger and a big hotter (20-30%), it is not impossible that life on mars would be the only option left for us, as earth will be then way too warm for our kind.

What that article talks about is the finding of evidences of water (or other liquid), not a confirmation of life on Mars.

And that, as you can see on the Space.com link, is from June 2000, so that is nothing new.

Ha! In 2 or 3 Billion years, evolution would have run its natural course and the human species will be long extinct and forgotten.

By that time some other species will be the dominant one on Earth -- maybe some intelligent descendants of the field mice that scurry about our on planet today.

That is something that you don't know about... Granted, I know it not any better, but I am believing that the human, as a specie, will stay. We will indeed pretty much likely have evolved, and that said, it is very possible that we won't be just roaming our solar system but many stellar systems. It is also very believable that by then we won't be the only civilization (I mean... officially ) and that we will "share space" with civilization from other planets/systems. But all in all, I think we will still be there. Maybe more "gray" looking, who knows?
