Can we stop with the discussion about marriage contracts and the such this is about Michael Jackson not others and what they do in their religion.

First of all this has occured in all societies all over the globe.

USA during the 1800's people married in their teens and you can still do so now in some states as long as you have parental permission.

Mary & Joseph we dont know how old Mary was she could have been a young girl, a virgin or both since its the same word just like in some languages they have words that mean two different things so we dont know about her at all. But we do know Joseph was old and they did have children later on but how long was that.

16 & 17 year olds marry older people all the time.

Woman usually marry older husbands look through out history and til now Woman are usually 5-10 years younger than there husbands; and then you could consider when did the two first we they both adults ?

Look at all the diiferent anicent societies; people married young there is nothing you can say about it. Look at the pharohs of egypt and kings of other civilizations.

They fact is we dont know what anyone does after marriage some may and some might not have sex with their new wife you cant just bash a religion because of that because you assume it always happens but you dont know that.

and can everybody answer this

What should be the marriage age since everybody seems to have changed the topic of this thread. As i recall people didnt live past 25 about 2500 years ago so what age did you get married and have children; does socitiey need to change every time humans advance in life expectancy, health, education if so we were do for another change about 30 years ago when computers were invented.

It is one thing to debate marriage age. It is another to use words improperly. If people do not like a man having sex with a young girl, that is their right. Unfortunately, if she has reached puberty before he even tried, he is NOT a pedophile.

That is all. Look up the word before you use it. Say whatever you like about age of consent and what you feel about this and that but the word has an actual definition and these people should familiarize themselves with it before applying it to people and situations where it does not actually fit.

P.S. I am done defending Islam and the English language, back to Mikey.

Since it is Michael Jackson...do you really think he has many inside tracks? He had none to keep him from getting into legal trouble with kids over and over, he had none to keep him from getting a good nose that stays on - yes there are reports his nose fell off again, lol - he had no inside track to save his butt financially so we see, he had no inside track on how to revive his carreer, I am running out of places this dude should have had a track. What I don't understand is why he has adopted an Arabian name. Just because you've changed your religion, doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your culture.

He changed his name because it is traditional in Islam that when you convert you adopt a "muslim" name. Mikaeel is Michael in arabic. As in the archangel Michael.

As far as I know his brother Jermaine is also a convert to Islam. He married a muslim woman and it is required that when a woman wants to marry a non-muslim he must convert to Islam. Perhaps the solace that Jermaine found in Islam is what attracted Michael to it, as well?

All I know is I hope he finds peace...

He wants to practise islam so he has a "reason" for fiddling with the kiddies if he gets caught again.
