It is amazing that a guy who has been through so much of pain and turmoil in his life finally found solace in islam.
What was wrong with his religion? Why did he convert. I think his financial and personal worries at the present time have got better of him
This was the same star of the century pop star that sold millions of albums in the 80s and 90s. I think we will still treat him as Michael jackson and
not as a muslim

What I don't understand is why he has adopted an Arabian name. Just because you've changed your religion, doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your
culture.

A nut case by any other name is still a few cans short of a six-pack.
No matter what religion this loon says he follows I wouldn't trust him around a child of any age.

I'm worried* that this might be a fad like a lot of things in the man's life.
Unfortunately, I think he'll come a bit unstuck if he thinks he can pick-up and put-down the Islamic faith like a toy or anything else that distracts
him for a while.
Paint me cynical but I'm wondering whether it's a business move too.
*actually, worried is too strong a word as I really don't care about the guy one way or the other.

I remember he was staying with some Sheikh in middle east some time back before he came back to LA. May be that had an influence on him
It is also some gimmick to bring him back into the news. Dont be surprised if he launches a new album soon !

He's in real hot water with a Muslim prince that he scammed.
The 'conversion' could be to get himself out of trouble with the guy.
I'm cynical. I don't buy that this is a religious conversion.
The conspiracy angle - he's doing it to somehow get out of trouble with breaking contracts and sponging off the prince for the past few years.

One wonders if this is an excuse to move towards a religion more accepting of his

This sounds made up.
One does not become Muslim by "pledging their allegiance to the Koran". And no Imam needs to officiate. This sounds made up.
You become Muslim by stating the affirmation of faith. Only that, and it is not a "public" ceremony.
He is being sued by the Sheik that he took advantage of, I bet that has something to do with all of this.

It's the Arabic rendering of Michael, which is a Hebrew name that means "Likeness of God".

Trying to care, trying... to... care...
sorry don't care.
Cool does this mean that he should move to the middle east now and when he gets caught over there messing arround with little kids do you think that
they will give him a "trial" like they did here?

This assertion may be more compelling if you had evidence that this still goes on, or if he was moving to a country where it is practised.
Otherwise it's just a cheap shot at another faith, and not worthy of you.

Plenty more where that came from (regrettably).
Do you disagree with my claim that Arabia as a region is more tolerant of child marriage than the West?
Of course the ultimate grounds for dispute would be that Jackson was innocent of all charges... so my comment was really a cheap shot at an innocent
man (technically).
