It's official: Clinton to be named Secretary of State
rawstory.com
President-elect Barack Obama will name Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) as his secretary of State shortly after Thanksgiving, two senior
Obama aides told Politico's Mike Allen late Thursday. AP confirmed quickly thereafter.
A transition aide "told The Associated Press that the two camps have worked out financial disclosure issues involving Clinton's husband, former
President Bill Clinton, and the complicated international funding of his foundation that operates in 27 countries. The aide said Obama and Hillary
Clinton have had substantive conversations about the secretary of state job." (visit the link for the full news article)

I'm surprised at this. Usually I don't take rumors from the media as fact because a lot of the times what the media says will happen is often times
wrong when it comes to these things. But aside from that, I am surprised because I wonder how Obama will be able to work with the limelight that
Hillary would steal because so much of the attention would be shifted away from Obama and focused on Hillary with this move. It seems like this move
is an attention getter. There is so much expectations on Obama right now so I'm guessing that this move was made so that they could divert a marginal
portion of the attention to someone else.
I don't think it's all political but I think that it was certainly calculated. That's just my personal belief.

My only question is how it can be official if it hasn't been officially announced.. Sounds pretty unofficial actually.

They're in the vetting process. Obama says it's on track, and, that basically equates to Hillary getting her job. My guess is that they're saying
it's official because Obama is saying this after they've investigated Bill. Now, my question, is it really Hillary who's going to be the secretary
of state, or will it be Bill?
