Am I Racsist for wanting to know this information?

Topic started on 21-11-2008 @ 12:20 AM by Doomsday 2029

www.statemaster.com...
Total Black Population (most recent) by state

There is a reason why I loked up this information... And I'm sure you guys on ATS can make logical guess as to why I suddenly felt compelled to search for these statistics.
(it should be obvious to most people here.)

So anyway, is it kind of racsist to look up this information because I felt it might be important to know in the near future?

Anyway... thoughts?

Hello...

Racist for looking up population information = no

But of course, I do not think you are looking up this information just for "general population information". So the next question is WHY are looking up this information? What is causing you to look for this information? If you are worried of some "Black uprising" in the future, or are worried that YOU may be the minority, then my friend, I would say (in my opinion) that your reasoning may be heading in a bad direction. Racist? maybe not, as I am not so concerned with the race or color issue, I am more worried about the FEAR issue, as I feel fear breeds racism and hate. Even scarier than the fear of a racial uprising (especially if it is not your race), you should be afraid of those planting these seeds in your head and their agenda. We are all members of the same species, we all need to start acting like it...scare tactics and bully tactics are very similar if you catch my drift.

Fear breeds racism and hate... okay.

But I just watched this video,... and I had a horrible, terrible, no-good, very bad thought pop up in my mind.

(Public Enemy Fight The Power music video)... Good Jam.

And it's not that I have fear,... I just have too much knowledge. This knowledge leads me to believe that there is a good chance that in the near future we could see something that could make the information I posted benneficial to me.

Look, all I'm saying is I've been bombarded with two words and one phrase the past year.

words:

1. HOPE

2. CHANGE

phrase:

"YES WE CAN!"

Now it appears to me that all of these messages have now been invested in one man. Many are putting their Hope in Obama. Many are asking him to Change the world instead of making the Change in their own lives. And lord forbid if something happens to Obama, "Yes we can!" becomes "No we Can't!" .

Bottom line:

I'd hate to be a whiteboy in Harlem the day that something goes terribly wrong the guy we've invested all our faith in. Is this really a racsist a comment, or is it the truth?

I would hardly consider that I invested any amount of faith into a person elected president who happens to be black, it wouldnt matter if the guy was purple or green.

Color dont matter, it is what the elected person does and if they do what they said they would do once they are sitting at that big desk.

People need to get off this stuipd race crap and move into the current age and times. This is NOT the freaking 50's.

Cheers!!!!

It kinda hurts when I read the "I" comments.

"I haven't done this"... "I wouldn't do that"

Is everybody in America like you? You might be a smart person, Is the rest of the country smart like you?

It's about what you think... It's about what society thinks.

A person can another person all he wants... but can that same person trust society the same?

I think you are the only one thats able to answer that.

Is there a reason you want to start yet another discussion on race?

You're not racist unless you want to use that information for evil intents and purposes.

That's just my $.02.

"I" say "I" because no one else is going to look out for "I", however "I" do try to show others how "I" think and they can take it for whatever they wish.

"I" happen to not consider myself all that smart, but "I" do consider myself smart enough to see through unecessary BS in this world that is so easily spotted and easily avoided..thus "I" try to show that to others too.

"I" have always believed in sharing the knowledge. "I" think thats a good thing..ya?

Take for instance all this racist junk. Now do you think that in today's "sophisticated" world of computers, modern technology, world economy, diversity of the population within the US alone, and with all the problems that we face with the long term survival of the human race, that there is room for the nonsense race crap?

It is as antiquated as the horse and buggy and has no place in TODAY's world.

That is just my point of view, something "I" think that others should seriously consider too given all the other far more important issues that face this planet.

IMO..on a sacle of 1 to 100, racism is not even on the list.

Cheers!!!!

I guess I just wanted to point out that I'm concidering moving to Montanna if something were to happen to Obama.

That's all.

I don't know what you've witnessed in your live time, but I've lived long enough to know that there is still racial tension in this country.

I'm just concerned that America has put it's self in a possition that this tension could be unleashed at full speed.

Are we ready for a black president? We're gonna find out.

Let me say this: I know I'm not a racsist.

But MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT... I will stereotype the hell out of every race, color, and creed.

Black people do it all the time, and so will I.

So (IMO) I think it's safe to say... Expect rascism like you've never seen it before America is ready for this guy to lead.

(Uhhh... and not to mention if something bad happened durring these economic times? Extra fuel for the fire.)

You should ask O.J. Simpson and Rodney King those questions.... Especially Rodney King.

Do you live in the country or something? Montanna?

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Are you racist for wanting to know the information? No.

However, looking past that, the fact that you looked it up, and decided to pose the question on here with subtle inferences to violence by black people, mixed with a cynical dose of fearmongering sure does suggest that you most definitely have an ulterior motive.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.
