Ok, so I will try and explain this to the best of my ability. Without deeply focusing I can give my legs a sensation that is neither pleasurable or
hurtful. It is a sensation that I can't really explain. Really all I do is totally relax my legs, kind of like im "letting go" of them. When I
get this sensation I can normally hold it for around 1-3 seconds. I tried getting my girlfriend to do it, but it never worked for her. It is such a
weird feeling, and I can only make it happen in my legs in the calf area. Can anyone else do this, or explain to me what exactly this is? If you
have any questions for me feel free to ask.

Perhaps its some sort of pre out of body sensation, as if part of you is leaving your physical being but the other part is refusing.
Or maybe its something to do with the nervous system. Have you ever been injured anywhere along your spine or neck in the past?
Cheers!!!!

No neck or spine injuries, but I did fracture my right Tibia when I was 14. I can do this any time of the day, and in any position.

Bumping this. I would really like to know what this is. Everyone should give it a try. Lay down and pretend as if you let go and your legs are
falling through the ground.

People who practice energy work and healing call this grounding with the earth.

Although you provided very little in the way of describing this sensation, I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say you have a variation on
Restless Leg Syndrome.
Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder characterized by unpleasant sensations in the legs and an uncontrollable urge to move when
at rest in an effort to relieve these feelings. RLS sensations are often described by people as burning, creeping, tugging, or like insects crawling
inside the legs. Often called paresthesias (abnormal sensations) or dysesthesias (unpleasant abnormal sensations), the sensations range in severity
from uncomfortable to irritating to painful. The most distinctive or unusual aspect of the condition is that lying down and trying to relax activates
the symptoms. As a result, most people with RLS have difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. Left untreated, the condition causes exhaustion and
daytime fatigue. Many people with RLS report that their job, personal relations, and activities of daily living are strongly affected as a result of
their exhaustion. They are often unable to concentrate, have impaired memory, or fail to accomplish daily tasks.

Sorry about the inadequate description of the feeling. It is very hard to explain because I've felt nothing like it and it is very brief to
determine. I don't believe it is RLS because it doesn't just come and go whenever. I can control it to happen whenever I want. I have probably
done it about 20 times since I started typing this reply.

It would be helpful if you could describe a bit more what the sensation feels like.
Would it be like energy moving or is it tightening or just what?
Try to explain a bit more and maybe some people can relate to it.

I guess you could say its a weightless kind of feeling. Kind of like a free fall. Like when you jump just before an elevator lands maybe? And I
only get this in the area just above to ankle to the calf muscle. Sorry It's so hard to explain.

Hello
I too think it's something related to energy..grounding/releasing energy. Or perhaps the complete physical relaxation before an OBE.
Do you feel anything moving in the area,in waves or something similar?
Does it feel like your legs' contour is fading away somehow,"melting"?
Also,if you feel any numbness or displeasure, make sure to check with a doctor.

Its a pretty confined feeling. It doesnt move, vibrate, pulse or anything like that. Its just there. The only reason I dont think its pre OBE or
RLS or anything like that is because I am in total control. I am doing it right now, and I am the least bit tired. Everyone should try it. Just lay
down, and relax your legs as if you are letting go of them.

I didn't say it's an OBE, but the phase that leads to one. And many people are in control of it, switching to this kind of relaxation willingly. If
you advice others to try it, I suppose it does cause you a certain amount of pleasure or at least calmness. Good luck exploring it

While RLS isn't something a person can "control", it is triggered as soon as a person starts to relax. Did I read you wrong or do you relax in
order to bring on the sensation?
I have had two family members with this and a few friends, and they have different ways of describing it, so it sounds different for everyone. I think
I have it myself, but I haven't been ti the doctor. There are medicines that treat it effectively if this ends up being your condition.
Thanks for the links Prototism.

Try looking up Eckborn Syndrome and see if it is the same as what you are experiencing.
I too get Restless Legs and it drives me nuts sometimes. A good way of relieving this is to have Quinine on a daily basis. I have this is in a
Shweppes Tonic Water form, the same as in a Gin and Tonic, only without the Gin.
Also you may find it could be a Cardiovascular problem and may well need a Doppler test.

I know exactly what you are talking about! Is it like almost a ticklish sensation? I can do it too! It happened to me the other day when I was
meditating.

HOLY. CRAP.
I made an account just to respond to this. I know exactly what you are talking about! Ive searched online over and over, and could never find
anything. I happened to be talking to my dad, and said "youre probably not going to believe this but I can control this weird
weightless/falling/disconnected feeling..." and before i could finish, he said "IN YOUR LEGS??"
I was shocked. He thought it was never something he could explain to anyone, and I thought so too, but we both can do it. He is a cancer and blood
doctor, and he said that he has never been able to figure out what exactly is happening, but he said he has been doing it for 50 years with no ill
effects.
I am thrilled to see your post on here. I finally came up with the right search words! It seems like it is nearly impossible to explain it to someone
who has never done it. People who are able to do it know what you are talking about right away.
I am sometimes able to do it so strongly, that i can start to feel it in my torso and arms. I am fascinated to find out what it might be. After my
discussion with my dad, we are considering doing it under his MRI machine, and also have electrical tests done to our legs.
