Is my cell phone tapped?

Topic started on 19-11-2008 @ 04:51 PM by spudnic

I will not go into detail why i am suspicious and weary of the fact that my phone may be tapped, or that the very fact i post this thread may be being monitored.

I am wondering if long noticable delays between when my phone transmits and is received by the destination, and vise versa may be a indicaton that my phone may be being tapped, or my conversations may being monitored.

I am not not concerned with methods the average joe schmo may be using to record my conversations but more so local and state law enforcements, and how i might be able to tell (Other than when i have law enfocrement breaking down my door).

On a personal note i would to say for the most part i am a law obiding citizen and any activities i may or may not be involved in pose no life threatening risks to any others i may or may not be involed with.

Any posts are welcome, I hope im just being Paranoid =).

Ever since ESS (electronic switching system) and CAMA (centralized automatic message accounting) every single digit pressed or word spoken into a dial tone is recorded. Cells phones even more so. This is for billing and legal reasons. There does not exist any phone that is not monitored and recorded. Id be more worried about a bug in the house. You shouldn't say anything illegal or personally sensitive over the phone without some sort of encrypted lingo. If you do, buy a prepaid phone from someone who bought it to keep off camera's, and then only use it sparingly for at most a month.

If there is any doubt in your mind, then it is best to assume it is indeed tapped and act accordingly. Better safe than sorry.

This is just my opinion, but... unless you are discussing very sensitive or classified information or something which if you revealed to the public could cause problems I doubt your phone is actually being tapped. It is, however, being recorded, as is every unsecured cell phone, text message, land line, e-mail, etc.

It's funny you said this, because I was talking to a friend of mine last night who brought up 9/11 over the phone. I know better than to discuss that via phone, so I said hello to the NSA during the conversation. I am not too scared though- I don't think "they" care about someone like me, who knows a few hundred people and has no proof, no media access, no group of followers, etc., discussing whether or not Bush knew in advance that something was going to happen, and whether a plane actually hit the pentagon.

I don't think TPTB care if we sit here all day and question things- it's the ones who find evidence and answers, and attempt to make that proof known, that concern them. So to put your mind at ease (hopefully) yes, you are being recorded, as we all are. But I doubt you are being actively monitored. I have no idea what you may be talking about, and I don't want to know. But if it is really something so big that you could get tapped, followed, and spied on I would suggest not using a phone, and taking the battery out of your cell phone when you are discussing such matters.

It's even been discussed by the MSM that TPTB can activate the microphone on any cell phone and listen to the conversation going on in a room, even if the phone is turned off. The only way to stop it is to take out the battery.

If you carry a cell phone then yes, you are bugged and you did it to yourself. I'm not saying they ARE listening to you, only that they can very easily do so.

If you can't give details, then don't lead us down this path...

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that the entire world is not out to get out you.
