We all know for certain that many poeple in Xinjiang province of China which borders Central Asia. do not identify themselves as Chinese. There is also a very old separatist movement going there. Culturally they are more closer to the Turkic races of Central Asia. Their food habits, language, customs and religion (Islam) are different from the Han Chinese. Along with Tibet, this reigon has always been a headache for China
