Arizona has been meeting it's budget for a long time by writing speeding tickets; especially if you're from out of state. They know you won't be coming back through to go to court so you just have to pay it.

Arizona highway patrol is the main reason I go around the state of Arizona rather than drive through it. Going to California from Oklahoma is a pretty straight shot on I-40 if you're willing to go through Arizona and I no longer am.

I saw a truck driver get pulled over after about 5 miles of a cop following behind him. I was driving neck to neck with the trucker and had my cruise control set to 1 mile below the posted speed limit. I pulled over when he got pulled over and gave the trucker my information after he got his ticket to let him know I'd make the trip back to testify on his behalf but he said his company paid the tickets so he didn't care.

They have no industry there so writing tickets (even bogus ones) is the only revenue gathering they can count on.

Doesn't Arizona have 2 speed limits, one for truckers and one for regular vehicles? I thought truckers had a speed limit 5 mph lower then regular cars. I haven't lived in Arizona for about 5 years so I could be wrong.

Oh brother!!! OK privacy 101.

PUBLIC PLACES ARE NOT PRIVATE!!!!

That means the open highway, downtown main street, residential street.

So if you are out there driving around on the PUBLIC road system, and your driving like a blooming idiot, you DESERVE to get busted and fined becasue you are endangering not only me, but everyone else on the PUBLIC roadways, including those minor kids sitting in the front seat of this car, that car, and perhaps YOUR car too.

Grow up and take responsibility for YOUR actions!!!

Capisch!!!!

100 percent for PUBLIC camera systems.

Cheers!!!!

Let me elaborate. If a minor female happens to be bending over in the car and the camera takes a picture down her shirt of her cleavage, it's child pornography. The driver may or may not be her parent. Regardless, that would still be a legal problem and nor has anyone given consent for their child to be photographed in that manner.

People do have an expectation of privacy "in their homes" and may not be photographed there. If someone's home happens to be an RV, they have an expectation of privacy.

It's an invasion of privacy, especially since these intersections are not marked long before you arrive at one so that you may avoid it.

What is the minimum speed limit on Arizona freeways?

Does anyone know?

Happened to me tonight. I turning left with a green arrow when some jerk approaching the intersection almost didn't stop. I hesitated in the crosswalk to see if he was going to blow through the red and realized I was in the intersection as it was yellow, then red.

I'll probably get a ticket trying to avoid an accident. If a cop had been at that intersection, he would never have stopped me.

This could be a passive solution for the folks living in AZ
www.sky-sol.com...
but knowing where the speed measuring cameras are installed could avoid bad news in the mail.

There was an initiative to do away with the cameras in the state, but I think it didn't make the ballot.

Well, good luck.
