SO, you're saying that Britain does none of these things?

Funnily enough, no, I'm not saying that at all.

What I'm actually saying is a lot of the reasoning that's proffered as being the reasons that America wanted independence happened anyway.

I guess this is exactly what I am talking about. Wow. That's all I can say.

That is a crazy reality you live in.

Not well. Though I wouldn't say taxes were the only reason the colonies seceded, but I also understand why Britain rolls its eyes at us when thinking about those days.

See my signature for an insight on what my avatar means.

If you still don't get it, it means that our government/country
has been taken over by the corporate banksters, the people of the United States are getting pissed about it and won't stand for it much longer.

I'm not going to debate your civil war with you because we have been debating it since it occured, to no avail.

Neither one of us was there, so you believe the history books and I'll believe the real history and leave it at that.

I'm trying to listen, but God, this guy is a terrible speaker.

Nah, I couldn't finish it. I made it through the first video and half of the second. Terrible speaker, couldn't even remember what he was trying to say half of the time, and wasn't even always correct on facts.

If you want to "teach me a history lesson", please provide something that doesn't suck. Or, and this is even better, you do the research, you post it here, and you cite your sources.

That would be the tops.

Yeah he does have a little trouble speaking. I think it's because he's trying to come across as more intellectual than he really is.

Unfortunately my vacation is over today. I doubt I'll be able to present any research in the immediate future.

It's just as well because I do not feel a pressing need to prove my views.

If you are confident in yours as well, I'm not going to lose any sleep due to it.

Sounds good. Without citing sources then, can you just briefly tell me your claim?

I never really understood it from the video. You don't need to prove it, I just want to know what it is.

Sure. My claim is that there was no civil war in the United States.
Civil war means the people of a country fighting among themselves.

The war you refer to as civil war, was actually a war between two countries each of whom had their own respective government. People who follow my point of view tend to refer to it as "The War of Northern Aggression" The aggressor being the United States of America, and on the defensive side the Confederate states of America.

Since the C.S.A. enjoyed only a brief existence before the war, and due to victors of the war having the priviledge of recording the official history.... many people do not understand what really occured and have been misled. They do not understand that the U.S. invaded a foriegn nation and still occupies it to this day.

It's as if the Confederate States of America never existed. The war is still being fought, the descendants of the people of the CSA and those sympathetic to it's cause are still being oppressed and persecuted, sometimes unwittingly by those such as yourself who have been led to believe a particular (biased) version of history.

The aggressors have justified their evil acts by using slavery as a cause. They have and will continue to perpetuate that myth until the truth is completely forgotten.

Any student of that period of American history knows that slavery was of little relevance when the war began.

Slavery was Lincoln's "weapons of mass destruction". It was and is propaganda.
