I am sorry and I am not going to tell people they have to go to church
neither. It is a choice if one wants to go to church, not a demand.

What proof do you offer? After all you may be rightly told that you are wrong. Some religions would say that attending church is a demand and that you would go to hell without it.

Religion is they newest target for haters because all other targets have been deemed politically incorrect. Yes many horrible acts have been committed under the banner of religion, but that doesn't mean that religious people should be held accountable for the acts of others.

Keep in mind that religion, like all other beliefs are simply opinions. No two people will ever agree on everything. As long as it is the belief and not the person being attacked, I can live with that.

there is enough church programs on TV to watch and gather info. if
wanted.
I just don't know how going to church will save all. After all some who
might say they go to church could miss services due to illnesses or
other things going on.
So in the end if I want to go to church , all I have to do is turn on the
TV.
and I will probably get a lot of people who disagree on that one too.

So you've got your finger on the pulse of humanity, do you?
There is no point to this thread and your statement is rhetorical weather you realize it or not.
Since when HAVEN'T religious people been persecuted?
Sorry if I seem crass or whatever, but I think it is fairly obvious that this kind of thing is not going to go away as long as there are people who think for themselves(religious or otherwise).
Get used to it or at the very least, stop feeling sorry for yourself. Maybe your god can console you.

crazyjames, I take it you are a Christian and are feeling attacked because of your beliefs. Please be advised that there are some on this site that live to attack Christianity. And rightly so! Jesus Himself said that the world would hate you for His name.

the religion doesn't work very well unless it's members are being persecuted for something, if it becomes a religion of popularity it becomes corrupted and evil,

perhaps the athiests are just gods way making sure christianity stays true to his teachings.

see, THIS is why you get attacked, people make an "attack" on your religion, which is more than likely just someone pointing out that everything you believe in is stolen from pagan worship, the entire story of jesus is nothing but recycled mythology, or your "teachers" are pedophiles.

and all you can do is say you'll "pray for them" rather than saying aything at all that may substantiate your need to pray to some invisible father figure, or change thier minds at all.

Those of true, deep and abiding faith don't need to talk about it or rub other people's faces in it with self righteousness and arrogance (all actually signs of weak faith) they simply go about their lives doing good whenever they can and show the fruits of faith by example and not words.

The point is not to change anyone’s mind. Everyone has a right to believe whatever they wish. Ideas are debated on this site all of the time. He doesn’t need to substantiate his need to pray. By now everyone should know that Christians pray since that is what the Bible teaches.

Christianity and pagan worship have many comparisons. To say that Christianity is stolen from pagan beliefs is simply an opinion. It is how some people interpret the evidence. Others interpret the same evidence as evil forces trying to discredit the promised Messiah before He was ever born. It is an opinion. You can’t argue opinions.

so then you feel that biblical scripture has the same standing in an argument as scientific and empirical fact? and since that's your opinion, it can't be wrong and shouldn't be argued against?

honestly, just because "some say" that something is true, doesnt mean that you have to accept that. Some things aren't opinion, some things are fairytales vs fact.

I could say that this entire world is nothing but an illusion put in place by the overlord catfish that secretly mind control us into doing everything we do for some mysterious reason that will somehow work out in the long run to benefit them.

That isn't a theory, that isn't based on any fact, but if that were my opinion, it's not wrong?

it is infintely more plausible that science is right, the bible is just a storybook, and religion is a construction of mankind to gain control over weaker minds, than it is that some guy was birthed by a virgin and a supernatural being, which was announced by a heavenly being with wings, that was able to perform magic and was crucifed, then magicly came back to life after three days of death.

And "some" of christianity isn't comparable to pagan beliefs, just look at Horus vs Jesus, it's plagarism.

white rabbit, what you just did is an attack. why do you feel the need to spew that crap on this thread? you are the one going out of your way to push the scientific dogma you believe in on a thread that is about tolerance. you're off topic and out of line.
