Yes you heard right. Looks like Disney is coming out with a movie starring Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) about a couple of kids(who are aliens) looking for their spacecraft over at Area 51.
It's called "Race to Witch Mountain". Apparently, Witch Mountain is Disney's term for Area 51.

LoL I know it's a Family movie and all but I figure I'd post this here for whoever is interested. To tell you the truth, I'm looking foward to it. I'd actually like to see Disney's view on Area 51 and ETs.
Trailer looks pretty promising. Here's a discription of the movie...

For years, stories have circulated about a secret place in the middle of the Nevada desert, known for unexplained phenomena and strange sightings. It is called Witch Mountain, and when a Las Vegas cab driver (Dwayne Johnson) finds two teens with supernatural powers in his cab, he suddenly finds himself in the middle of an adventure he can't explain. When they discover that the only chance to save the world lies in unraveling the secrets of Witch Mountain, the race begins, as the government, mobsters and even extraterrestrials try to stop them. "Race to Witch Mountain" is a fun and thrilling adventure featuring incredible special effects.

en.wikipedia.org...

It's a remake of a remake of a movie based on a book.

I liked the 1970s versions when I was a kid.

This is my first time hearing about it I guess. I'm 25 so that was right before my time. Sounds like a good story.

They used to run the movies on Dinsey and some of the other kids programing networks a lot when I was a kid... havn't sen them on TV though for a few years. Maybe they'll rerun them now that the new one's coming out.
I'm only twenty.

As for my thoughts about the original movies? Fun, a bit corny, and there were cool purple lights.

Well, "The Rock" is in it, so I can't promise you in won't be corny.

But seriously, it does look interesting. I just find it funny that Disney is recognizing the whole Area 51 thing.

My niece has assured me there was a episode of Kim Possible that featured area 51. I think there were other cartoons feature aliens and such.
