But someone said in the comments that it was helicopters flying in formation.

(Woman) Yes, it’s going under…One has just split
(Man) It did a little…hmm…it’s amazing
(Woman) : it’s so (interesting)
(Man) it had a baby (laughing)
(Woman) one is gone

(Woman) Line, come quickly ! here ! ( the lady is coming close to the others) look, a little one just split and it left by below

(The guy takes the cam, and speaks clearly)

(Man)On the cam I can see 4 lights…It’s not moving

(women) no it’s going up ! a little one just left from below
(Man) Now I see 6, 6 lamps !

ANALYSIS !


As a French, from what I heard, this video was filmed in southern France, first because of all of the insects making noise (typical of southern France, warmer climate even in winter) and because of the obvious accent the people you can hear have. That singing accent from the south.
It looks like it was a small dinner, no more than 4 people in the appartment, all middle-aged. There is another male apart from the main one, but you can hear him just a couple seconds.

Anyway, this looks like a video from a balcony. I suppose the temperature was pretty cool, as you can hear slippers sliding on hard ground, which means the people were not dressed very warmly. From what I heard ( i've got to be honest) the guy holding the camera is not very smart, and uses a pretty familiar vocabulary. His wife too. That explains why he shakes all the time with the cam, it must be his first time. Notice all the zooming and moving of the lens, it's nauseous at some point...

Anyway, THE 2ND WOMAN SAYS " it's the same thing we saw yesterday"
which means that this is not a new phenomenon !!!!!!!!!!!! ! !!! ! ! ! I guess that this is not a UFO sighting, I would have heard about it... More, you can hear a very light sound, typical of a distant jet ( i live near a military airbase, i know what it sounds like don't worry)

_One of the ATSers assumed it was a plane formation, yes i agree with him, probably tactical jets doing night exercises in formation.
(The most important bases we have are in southern France, including our nuclear launch sites)
It can not be the Patrouille de France, if you check their website they have finished exercises since october. More, they never train during noghts, those are expert pilots doing daytime shows, don't you think it would be stupid to have a nightime show ?)


I will send a mail to a couple of french ufologists and have their own opinion of the sighting. If we can call that a sighting !

Flares are red as to keep the rods in the eyes from being damaged by rescue aircraft pilots searching for the downed pilot or roadside flares also are red for same reason to protect drivers rods and not destroy them. If they were not red it would destroy the rods and cause you to lose your night vision you get through the build up of rhoadapson over a 20 minute period.

Not to mention the flares leave a red trail of phosphorus behind/below them depending on how strong the wind is. I have never seen a recorded image of flares that didn't have this effect just speculation that the white lights are flares which is false unless someone is illegally making their own flares and has no understanding of rhoadapson there obviously not flares.

It's a squadron of helicopters I would guess because we have the same thing around here but they come close enough we can hear the rotors at night.

I continue to wait for any video anywhere that shows something other than earthly lights. I mean if we really do have something extra terrestrial do you honestly believe they'll have bright white (green / red/ blue etc) lights and fly like anything we've ever seen...

I wan to see something:

1. In Daylight - why are 99% of UFO videos nightime? Do our alien friends have day jobs or something?
2. Clearly not anything any of us poor earthbound critters could make up or PhotoShop!
3. Seen by many and captured by several
4. Captured by someone who has a steady hand... I take videos (boring non-alien types) all the time and I fear that many of these people have some terrible disease or something
5. Preferably HUGE - I mean if YOU came from somewhere else - would you fly what amounts to a teeny tiny ship?

OK - so THAT'S unlikely - but the Phoenix Lights (albeit NIGHT TIME) came closest to this...

Doubt it could be several jet fighters or helicopters. Would make a fair bit of noise. It's very quiet in the background, all I can hear is crickets.

To me it looks like the reflection of an LED hand powered torch reflecting back at the window. To do these effects stand in a darkened room behind the camera and shine the torch at the closed window.

To make the lights pulsate start squeezing the torch to slightly charge it, to make the end light go on and off place your finger over the last bulb.

I have one of these torches and the bulbs are in the same formation.

Don't get me wrong, I am a believer, just not in this case.

looked really strange to start with, then the first plane banks off and the illusion is shattered.
just looks to me like a bunch of planes in formation flying towards the camera guy.
dont get me wrong, id love to see a really good ufo film. but i have to be objective too. remember occam's razor...

Looks like an array of lanterns linked together hence the flickering.

Also one seems to drop away in a style very similar to one of those lanterns going out.

Wierd, racked up the lighting and tried to make sense of the object trailing the light past 2 minutes.

Good video, OP. Anyone who takes the time to watch the whole video carefully will see that it is clearly not a stadium light. A fabrication with balloons and flares might be possible, but towards the end of the first video (not the second, of the smaller pair of lights), it seems to me that the whole light formation turns (just like the man in the video is quoted as saying), and flies away to the right. But having said that, I still see no reason to dismiss the idea of planes or helicopters in formation, although aren't they flying awfully close to one another considering it's the middle of the night?

All fair enough, askbaby. Although I don't agree that a UFO has to be huge in order to be something that is clearly not man-made... but either way, it's good to have reservations about ET claims. Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence, after all. But let me pose to you a hypothetical situation. What would you do if you saw something with your own eyes, if only briefly, that you couldn't explain? Indeed, something that fit most of your criteria? Suppose you saw something that was:

1. In daylight
2. Clearly something that humans couldn't have made (unless we're way more advanced than we realize)
3. Wasn't flashing any colorful or obvious lights
4. Seen by only you
5. You didn't have any kind of camera at the time

How would you react? And why would anyone believe you?

Of course I'm not suggesting we start taking people at their word. But I was in your shoes not long ago. After seeing a floating cube in broad daylight I was forced to alter my perspective on the UFO phenomenon, since I have to trust my own eyes and am very aware of the kinds of tricks they can and cannot play on me. Careful analysis has left very few conclusions aside from a UFO or outright insanity, and I see no further evidence of the latter, a fact to which friends and family can easily attest.

Anyway, I still think you've got the right attitude. I don't expect you to take me at my word, either, nor should you. But hopefully you'll get to see one yourself, someday, because for skeptics like you and me, that's just about the only thing that can really convince us that something weird is going on.

I'm sorry, but lights in the sky doesn't cut it. That, and the fact morons with camera's who cant sit the camera on some surface, so you end up with 4 minutes of shaky, out of focus footage that could be a group of wombats with miners caps on ....
