Its OK to be happy and enjoy the holidays even though people get crazy and greedy sometimes. With the economy like it is, I think many people will have to scale back this year, and that is OK. I hope no one gets depressed about that because it can be an opportunity to get away from the commercialism and stress and get back to a simpler time. Maybe everyone can agree to either make a present or recycle something- maybe it can be the first year that "regifting" can be socially acceptable!

Thanks that was a lovely post. I think your right, maybe this credit crisis is the change we need to alter our spending habits and move away from this commercial madness.

I think allot of the issue is what the media put over because they put the whole financial and profit spin on the whole thing. Thats what I feel puts the whole thing off when on the news the first thing they report is company profits but the good thing is I barely watch tv anymore.

The great advantage is that if you really want to get something special for someone like chocolates or something christmasy the sales are a great way to do that. The person gets a gift from you with love as the meaning of christmas is about giving and you save money too.

Its a win win for all so in that way sales are the best time to wait for gifts even something small like a card of red roses something like that
