Three separate wildfires in southern California have destroyed hundreds of homes and forced thousands of people to flee the fast-moving
The fires, to the north, north-west and south of Los Angeles have burnt through dry brush and forest in the suburban canyonlands around the city.
California's governor has declared states of emergency in Orange, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties.
The flames are being driven by Santa Ana winds of near-hurricane force.
The largest of the fires is in the northern Los Angeles suburb of Sylmar, up against the canyons of the Angeles National Forest.
Oh my, I so hope this gets sorted ASAP. This area seems to suffer from this exact same thing, time in, time out.
I don't mean to be funny, but i'm surprised there's anything left to burn...
My thoughts and best wishes go out to all those involved, in particular the fire fighters on the ground... good luck all, get those flames out.
As for the general public.. please do keep up on the news in the areas affected...
