WASHINGTON (AP) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is calling for talks with Barack Obama as soon as possible after the U.S. president-elect takes the oath of office.

Medvedev is reaching out to the incoming U.S. administration during his first visit to the United States since becoming Russia's president in May.

During an appearance Saturday night in Washington, Medvedev said there is a lack of trust between Russia and the United States and he hopes this will change when Obama becomes president.

He said it is not particularly important what he and Obama discuss at their first meeting. Medvedev said "the main thing is that the meeting takes place and that it takes place quickly." Medvedev is in Washington for the global financial summit.

Obama deserves a chance yet the above headline gave me chills.

Why would the leader of the former Soviet Union (Russia) want to place this in the headlines.

This may be a signal of intent.

Or maybe he just needs to chat with a comrade?!

Nevertheless, even if it is innocent, it is a major diss toward Bush.

He says that it needs to take place and take place quickly. That is what caught my eyes. Why the rush?

The first thing I see is that this is a slap in the face to President Bush. I was watching a video of the G20 meeting and President Bush looked as if he had been roughed up. He looked so stressed.

Obama looked the same after his briefing a while ago as well.

Remember the SALT talks. President Reagan always looked great. He seemed to be in his element. Look at the results.

If we look at Obama and Bush they both look like Clinton did during his witchhunt.

I do not believe any of the Presidents are planning anything "evil"...they both need our support so far as it falls in line with the Constitution of These United States of America.

Reagan is a joke, he began the financial mess. That being said he played the presidency well, thats why he was an actor previously.

The right can have him.
