RUMFORD, Maine — People in western Maine were given a slight jolt Thursday when a minor earthquake struck in Rumford.

According to the Weston Observatory at Boston College, the earthquake happened at 5:26 a.m. and had a magnitude of 2.2.

Michael Hagerty of Weston Observatory says the quake could be felt tens of miles away, but he didn’t know of any damage reports.

wasnt the government doing some drill or something yesterday about what to do if a really big earthquake hit california.. what if their planning a big earthquake but on the east coast.. with the haarp thing.. ya know
