Yeah, I agree (and said so) that Israel is a very different situation than the US. However, I was trying to caution that when people (not accusing you) start throwing around labels like "Nazi Youth" then they start throwing out the possibility of rational discussion. These "youth camps" or whatever they're called would arguably be a step towards a Nazi Youth program...they're also arguably a step towards the IDF. Completely different ends and goals.

As for teaching the Constitution is bad and the military are baby-killers, where the h# did you go to school? I still learned that the Constitution was the founding document and we read it in school, unedited. We learned about war heroes and generals and Presidents. All in public school. Maybe I was just lucky that way.

TO those fearing whats coming, have no fear for half of America is on your side. Half of the other half will open their eyes when the time comes and whatever is remaining will be sent to the gallows.

If they so much as try and make my sister do any of this bull crap, they are going to have a real problem.

It isn't that community service is a bad idea, however, community service should not be government required. As a free society we should have a choice of whether we want to do community service. I as a mother do not want the government telling me that my 16 year old son is required to do community service. It is dictating to me how I would like my child to spend his free time. I don't want my choices taken away from me and my child. How do they plan on implementing this service? It is very vague and not specific.

I for one have no problem with a revival of the Civilian Conservation Corps, as I have family that worked with them during the Great Depression. I also have no problem with some form of National Service, so long as it is used to promote the ideas of Loyalty, Honor, and Duty towards America. However, I am VERY suspicious as to Obama and his motives behind such Programs. Will this be about Performing Duty towards America, with the idea of Helping Eachother? OR, will this be about Performing Duty towards Obama's Administration, with the idea of Becoming a Socialist/Quasi-Communist Society?

well... once it is implemented... starting with our youth,
it will be all americans from that generation forward. So the
statement "All Americans" would be true.

Correct they may exempt the older generation but the program
will slowly encompass everyone. Then they will lengthen your
forced commitment. Then they will place you on permenant roles
and compell you into service at will.

A little at a time until the young don't even realize the way
it used to be.


Scary to think we are discussing only one item on his agenda.

Gang, they are surrounded on "EVERY" side of their borders by nations and people who want to annihilate their nation...

Most of their conscripts are happy to serve...And most families have "gas masks" as a household "necessity."

You and I must be around the same age. (late 50's here) I learned the same things. If your less than 20 years old then ...! My grandson keeps coming home from his college and complaining that he has to keep writing papers he does not agree with just to keep his grade point up. If he dares to disagree with the Prof he gets a 'F' like others in his classes. The new text books and the socialist teachers in the inner cities are a whole differant ball of wax. It will scare you to read the new texts on history and civics they are using! Thats where I get the notion on the teachings of our kids here! Why do you think so many folks home school now? It ain't to save money, its that their schools and the teachers are closet commies!

and i respect you and your right this does come down to values and unfortunately after all this post election fever im sure that alot of parents (especially minorities. not a racial statement but a demographic) would be happy to let their kids join. they will sell it as a the change and everyone would buy it.

Thanks...I loved it...And do I have some strange stories for you and all of us here...I was in from 1978 to 1998...I travelled all over the world and saw some pretty interesting things...

He certainly was not in MY classes. I required my students to write EXACTLY what they believed in, and REQUIRED original thought. I NEVER gave my opinions to any student, as my task was to get them to think on their own. Teachers that do what your grandson were told to do, DEFAULTED on their responsibility to teach students to analyze and think on their own.

Prof, I apologise for painting all professors with a broad brush but, you MUST see this in your own academic force within your school! This is especialy true in the JUCO system. The schools in my area are buying text books that bare no resemblance to the texts that I was taught with and the socialist slant is VERY evident. Sorry if I offended you my friend.

And to those of you who are freaked out by it being required... I should make you aware that there are tons of things which are required already..

Income Tax
Being in a school of some sort
Selective Service
etcetera...
