Those of us who homeschool know that this situation has been in the works for a long time: the government threatening to take our kids out of our homes for indoctrination. This is just another step in the same direction. However, with all the stops having been pulled out in Congress and the vilification of Obama opponents as racists and extremists, I am pretty sure they are going to drop all the pretense early on in his administration and grab for total control. The time for incrementalism is over, I think, and the time for the NWO to finally reveal itself has come. I can't believe it's happening in my lifetime. I have young children. God, what have we (as a nation - I didn't personally vote for him) done?

I really believe this is the end of the world. Or at least the end of America.

Hey, only 100? Shoot, in my hometown Tucson, I dont know any kids who didnt do at least 100 hours of community service.

On one hand I want to say, screw that, this is america, free to do or not to do what I please.
And on the other hand, I think that ideology has gone off the deep end in certain aspects. I mean, look at the country, we are free to eat a billion cheeseburgers before the age of 4, free to drop out at 16.

So I think this might not be so bad, as long as it is restricted to youth, I really do believe if we were harder on kids, they might better understand the futility of what is being taught. Also, if they are forced to volunteer, it will give them a broader perspective on society, as well as make them cherish the freedoms they get when they become adults.

Who knows. I can find a million reasons for and against it.

First of all, (I know it has been said on this thread) Barack Obama is not the newly appointed king of the U.S.A. he would have to get this through the entire governmental process, and even an entirely far left congress wouldn't let this go through. Secondly, the people against this are most likely the same ones who say that people have lost touch with the VALUES of America. Seriously you can not complain about one then claim the other is a Nazi conspiracy.
Mandatory is probably not a good thing in any gov program, but it is still America. That piece of paper is still in effect.
