Long-Lost Lunar Photos Recovered

Some "new" cleaned-up images from our good buddies at NASA.

Mankind's first pictures of Earth as seen from the moon were made public Thursday, more than 40 years after they were snapped by Lunar Orbiter 1. The pictures were rescued from storage and painstakingly restored by NASA and the Lunar Orbiter Image Recovery Project in an abandoned McDonald's in California. This picture was taken Aug. 23, 1966.
