Subliminal Truth?

In Dan Brown's Angels and Demons there is a style of writing (I will leave out the details so I don't ruin it) in which a word can be written so that it can be read left to right or vice versa. I was thinking of that and leet-speak which shortens words and phrases to make communication faster. This is similar to those:

Pepsi turns into isded (is dead?).

Isn't it really saying - IS D3D?

I mean, I know "leet speak" would see that as such, but it's not actually what it says in regular english.

Well it's not leet or Illuminati but wouldn't you think they would have put the name through the ringer? I guess the name was from naiverish times.
