Amazing to think that we have the ability to start looking at other places in our universe. I absolutley think that if we are ever going to find aliens, we will do it out there...

Oh, come on, MemoryShock - plenty of us know that aliens are right here in our own backyard as well!!! We just have to look a little harder!

The article stated that the results will be published in 'Science' and 'The Astrophysical Journal' so there should be some pictures around for those who are keenly interested.

Cool pics Slayer..I can see some similiarities in the two, Now Im no geo-physicist or anstronomer or anything scientific but maybe it could be the beginning of a new civilization and new race of lifeforms, Who knows!!

This is great news! I had a personal experience once when I was much younger. I was feeling really down and alone one day when I just closed my eyes and projected the thought "Is there any life out there besides on this god-forsaken planet?" I rarely ever meditate and cannot remember an instance of anything supernatural occurring in my life. After the short message, I forgot all about it until I was at work the next morning and the word "Fomalhaut" popped into my mind as clear as a bell. I was so inspired by it that I wrote SETI and urged them to listen to Fomalhaut. It is also the basis of my username.

Well ... it's sort of like receiving a new baby announcement with an accompanying picture that shows a pink blob from 100 feet away ...

BUT.. I still think it's great; it's a start towards finding other planets, other life, and our knowledge of our own solar system and the planets can only be increased by learning about others and having comparison data.
