The meaning of Christmas is christian? Then what's with the trees and mistletoe etc.? Xmas is showing it's pagan roots.

I'm not sure what happened to Christmas. Christian Christmas is a minor holiday, a time where you're supposed to get drunk off your butt, sing bawdy songs, and have a hell of a good time. I mean it's a birthday, right? In fact the celebration of Christmas used to be so bawdy that most European Protestant groups outlawed its celebration. Christmas was definitely an 18 or older event, back in the days when it was actually Christian.

When the Victorian-era Brits got their starchy mitts on it though, man, they just ruined the whole thing. I say, bring back Christi Gras!

And in today's world it's all comercialised. Family & friends celebration of christmas takes a back seat to the hype all the store go through.

Same with just about every other holiday, especially Halloween. I remember using real bones from an animal in my costume one year and people thought I was "strange" because every other costume was store bought. Friggin hell!

Good Wolf,

Oh, I agree. Our children already have so many things taking their childhood away much too soon.

Bring back the principle of "seperation of church and state" and you solve the problem.

Cheers!!!!
