Would technologically advanced aliens have a need for religion?

Of course they have religion, they are more spiritually advanced than us.

First off i do believe we would advance further without the shackles of religion and believe that most advanced aliens either have a single unified religion (Due to not being able to remove it from there culture) or have none at all maybe never had one.

To say that religion shapped our morals for good and wrong is placing a hole heap of faith into a flawed concept....Even with out it we would of had our morals of right and wrong.....after all the morals that are from the god are actually writen by man. So someone not god gave us those morals.

Civilation was not totally born out of religion it maybe even hindered it due to keeping it within a strict working sociaty we came together and set our morals for the good of our own kind to protect and feed ourself. We are after all a social creature.

To say religion was the cause of all war is however over statement i may not agree with religion but infact its the person who uses it to manipulat others that are in the wrong and even without religion i believe they would of found other ways to get to there goals..

We maybe social animals but we are also our own worst enemy....with our war like nature and our vast imaginations.

We all have our opinions my friend. I am sharing things I have learned,
which I have integrated into my belief system. I do appreciate your
opinions, I really do. Your logic is unique to you. We all have different
experiences in life and we base our knowledege and our opinions
from these experiences. I know you must look at things objectively
and form an opinion based on what your experience has taught you,
but you also must realize that what you believe to be logical based on
your own conclusions is not necessarily true. We sometimes must accept
that we may not be right and learn to accept that maybe someone else
may be correct. I do appreciate your opinions, in fact when you call me
a lunatic or say that something I have said is nonsense, I go over things
again to re-evaluate what I have said and so far none of what I have
said is nonsense, nor am I a lunatic, but you are entitled to your opinion.
I think many of us come here to learn things. If you go through life thinking
that only things "you" have seen and experienced are the Alpha and the
Omega, I am afraid that what you believe to be true will be very limited.
If I brought you a rock from M51 would you believe it was a rock from
M51 or just a trick. Do you believe we really landed on the moon, or that
that is a bunch of crap because you weren't actually on that mission? If
the things I have said here don't make sense to you, don't automatically
assume I have concocted a fantasy. Some people have honed skills
in discernment more than others. You say that you realize God is a
concept. What facts have led you to assume that God is a concept. God
is the alpha and the omega my friend, but of course that is what I believe.
This forum is not getting a bad name. Some people may put a label like
that on it, but if you surveyed the several thousand people that visit
this forum on a regular basis, I am sure you would see they feel otherwise.
I wish you all the peace in the world. We are all learing. We have so

why is religion a concept in my view because it was dreamt up by a man to control the majority. There is no proof of the religion being true it is all faith which to many could be a concept to believe in something that has control over you.

religion hold the ppl within it a prisioner look at the pope and the christian faith it is out dated for our times thousands of ppl desert it by the day if not now but soon there will be far more non believers than believers.....

I believe that there is no sole that life is now and nothing more heaven and hell are all one thing and we stand and look at it all around us once we are dead we are but a memory the only reincarnation of us is the fertiliser that we are for the plants around us. This has not hampered my moral understanding my right from my wrong. I have been a non believer since i was very young. Not forced on me but through my own intrest in find what i believe is to be the truth and the hardship of a religion and a god.

to have a god is to have a type of slavery as you must obey is will or be punished. If we were created by aliens then we are theyre property yes but i see them as no more a god than i see the person beside me just because they igve life does not give them the right to govern a race of "intelligent" individuals (use the term loosely)...........................

Religion needs to take a back seat or change dramatically to even be in with a running chance of lasting in the futre....the christian power/pope should not be able to effect goverments or countries they should have no power nor great wealth since a religion is for the ppl and not for monopoly gains.

I thank you that you respect my opinion, and I like that you give your input as well.. I just think your being hypocritical.

You tell me not to be closeminded, Which I am not.. then your the most closeminded of us all, saying god is aplha and omega. My opinions are not perfect, I'm not the smartest guy on earth. But, my opinions can be backed up and are based on proof.

Do you understand that with the way you are thinking I could say the following : Giant Onions are the aplha and omega, the connect us all with spiritual energy. Can't you feel it? They fly through the sky and join all our spriritual bodies together as one. They wish we all eat ants. You should know this, your experiences don't tell all. How are they following a religious order? I have not seen them praying nor worshipping a devine individual.

They are simply different factions one of good the other of evil.
