Containment truck

well i was on my way home today and it was about 11 pm. i was on the highway when right before the Goethals bridge which is in new jersey to Staten island a cop blocked off both lanes. then 3 cops drove ahead followed by 2 oversized load trucks. the containers were on flatbed. i cant find a picture of it but here is something like it.




it was about that size but both ends were rounded and had no markings on it. except for the word "containment something" and it was written in blue on the back. they wouldn't let us on the bridge until it passed. well i had to get off the highway in Staten island but the truck kept going in the Brooklyn/Manhattan way. anyone know what this might have been?

Containment for chemicals or nuclear materials.
Could have been nuclear waste however they don't usually transport it that way they usually use trains.
Also it could have just been the empty containment tanks shipping them to a nuclear facility or something they could have been coming from the manufacturer.
And the cops just blocked it off because it was an over sized load.
Its very hard to say but I doubt it was nuclear waste.

As a trucker- I will say it was blocked off to keep cars from getting in the way. And for some reason car driver's think they are immortal.

Any load that is nuclear with the exception of Military loads will be marked with the proper HazMat labels. HazMat will not travel through cities unless it is for local delivery. Noting the fact that they were oversize-they were prolly on their way for permament installment. Nuclear loads, weather they travel by rail or truck are tracked by sat, D.O.E. and military, also have an escort weather you see them or not.
