Georgia congressman warns of Obama dictatorship

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist or fascist dictatorship.

"It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he's the one who proposed this national security force," Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. "I'm just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may — may not, I hope not — but we may have a problem.

Broun cited a July speech by Obama that has circulated on the Internet in which the then-Democratic presidential candidate called for a civilian force to take some of the national security burden off the military.

"That's exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it's exactly what the Soviet Union did," Broun said. "When he's proposing to have a national security force that's answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he's showing me signs of being Marxist."

I'm speechless from this. I'm surprised though that this is in the mainstream news.

I have had my suspicions that there is the possibility that the extreme popularity of Obama may be utilized by some of the behind the scenes power players to force us closer to a NWO or a North American Union.

I am not a crazy Obama hater, but I dont trust the behind the scenes players one little bit, and I am keeping my eyes on what kind of liberties we may be asked to sacrifice to "save us all" from this economic crisis.

I dont know if he would be a willing pawn, or an unwitting one, but I have had an uneasy feeling that something big is about to be pulled on us by the PTB in the next couple years since late last year. Regardless who won the election.

Just a gut instinct, but I was suspicious that Obama being so popular with those most likely to march against it, young people, could be part of some larger scheme. I think the two party system is like a game of good cop, bad cop, and that essentially, just beneath the surface they are really after the same things.

Just my two cents.

My first gut instinct is that this congressman is just bitter than his party is out of office; if he were that concerned about dictatorial powers in the office of the President he should have been pointing the finger at GWB long ago.

We would have a coup d'etat and/or civil war before that ever happened.

Once President elect Obama is in office he'll see that the office of the President is not as powerful as people think it is. He will have to deal with bureaucrats who have worked in various agencies and departments from the last 40 to 30 years.

This is especially true of the military where you have senior brass who have served in the military since the late 1960s.

No civilian national security force will ever equal the power that military and the military industries wield.

I am sure that our military, the intelligence agencies and even the Secret Service would ensure there would be no dictatorship by anyone in the office of President.

For the last eight years, the American people have been subjected to the neo-fascist pseudo-dictatorship of Bush, and even before Obama takes the office of President, this asinine congressman decides that he doesn't like Obama's plans because they are anathema to Bush's destruction of America. The woodwork in Congress house must be rife with crawling maggots of this congressman's ilk! I wonder...what comments he made when speaking out against Bush? Probably none, but that Broun gave a good impersonation of a seal wanting fish and applauded and lauded Bush for his policies? What a two-faced hypocritical bastard this guy must be! Iago could have no better accomplice than this snake.

For them both, fear-mongering is a spade by which they dug a grave for a free America, but it is they and their creed that reside in the grave of their intended victim, and it is their's and Bush's ghosts whom Obama will exorcise and excoriate from the people's conscience. I hate to say it but this congressman wouldn't know Marxism if he was slapped in the face with The Communist Manifesto.

We can expect to hear this sort of ridiculousness from the uneducated masses but from a member of Congress? What a sad state our country's in, do they even teach Marxism in Georgia? Or do they just say "communism bad!" and leave it at that.

I'll make an estimate... Ask any 100 black Americans on the street if they know anything about Facsism.

Think About it... Obama even wants a 'civilian military force'. Who do you think these people will be? Obviously anyone who needs a job.

Blacks will line up to get a 'police' job... and they will love it. They will do anything to support Obama. Even if it means destroying the country... They will always remember the fact that slavery took place. So they will feel impowered by Obama and feel as if they have finally changed the Country.

Get ready for something... that's all I know... I don't believe what I just wrote, but I can see the fact that most black people will pledge their allegience to Obama no matter what he decides. (Jst because he's black)

It's because some in congress are blowing it out of proportion. It's what the old politics does to bring attention to an issue.. they "sensationalize" it.


Its the stuff that's not sensationalized that you should really be concerned about.

This may come off as rude, but to me you sound like an old racist fool babbling on about some race war that's never gonna happen because most of America has pulled their heads out of their respective asses and learned to respect one another. I couldn't agree more. We talk about how awful youth crime is today, but the same folks cast this community service group as somehow facist.

I have a bad feeling what this man is saying is true...

He took a lot of his opinions from what Obama said in his own speaches...

Now on Obamas website they have changed the wording from Required Community Service with No Opt out..

I guess they are figuring out their words are scaring the crap out of people...

I for one was very unhappy with what they were saying...I do not want my child doing mandatory community service...I am disabled and we can't keep up with running our own house hold as well as it should be run...

I think the American people will have a big wake up call coming Very Soon...

Maybe as soon as January from all the stuff I am reading about...
