Well I am always straight and upfront with people too ! Well most of the time and to be HONEST I am totally hooked Beats television any day -I think the shows are always conducted in a very relaxed and professional manner - and personally I like “ hearing “ what people have to say in fact I think I enjoy it more than "reading" . Feels more real . Keep up the good work guys

I like it. I just wish that ATSmix would be more serious. I kind of agree with the user that said it was dumbed down. I wouldn't put it like that... but... I would really like for the show hosts to make an effort to try to attack the conspiracies at every angel. They should talk about more topics like ones to do with the world government and I just think that it would be nice if they were a little bit more critical of things too and I don't want to accuse either Dave or Johnny of anything but I just hope they don't believe or disbelieve anything they hear about or dismiss anything as silly. I would like more of a variety of paranormal topics in the show too. I just don't like it when people come on there to talk about something that hasn't been proven yet... but... I think that if people come on to talk about something not proven yet (like higher dimensions) than they should say what they are saying in opinions and not quote some random scriptures and pass it off as facts.

Just my $.02.

Hey Frank....

Johnny and I always appreciate your candor. As we have stated before numerous times, we go into interviews with an open mind. Unlike mainstream media that has an "agenda".... we have none. We go into each and every interview prepared, research done, questions at the ready.... we make the guest comfortable as if we are sitting in their home with us, sipping a cool drink of choice and just chatting about the topics of the day. We will never do a "60 Minutes" type interview.... it's not our style. We would rather pull out of the guest "their thoughts and ideas".... throw them up in the air..... and see if our members salute them or not.

I do hope that we can get into more areas in the near future than we have delved in this past year. The great thing about our home here and, most especially, our intelligent community of writers and posters.... is that we have such a vast array of potential topics and interview concepts. We will never run out of prospects or ideas as long as the heartbeat of ATS, the Members, each continue to post their hearts, minds, thoughts and beliefs here at AboveTopSecret.Com.

Thanks again for always being candid and honest.

Dave

I have listened to a few shows. I found the interview with Micho Kaku to be top notch.

I think ATS should get Nick Redfern on the show. I think many UFO/Alien conspiracy theorists would love to hear his take on the "big picture."

You guys have had some fantastic interviews like the one with Ventura and no doubt the one with Mitchell coming up is going to be great!

Why don't you guys go for broke and try to get Ron Paul on the show?

Hey SJ, if you will go to the ATS MIX GUEST FORUM there is a thread there for submissions of potential ATS MIX Show guests.

Thanks for the comments.

Well SkepticOverlord, I started but not finished the ATS MIX Listener Survey at PodTrac.
But I can say you this, and it’s absolute not because it’s you that asking that question of course but only that I would gladly give my honestly opinion about them and how I experienced the shows where I listen to so far.
I don’t listen to all of them because I am very selective and only listen to those shows where the guest or guests in it are interesting enough for me of course and there are some that I want listen to but are still in my basket.
But mostly when I do I listen to the whole show.
And so far I can say that despite my difficulty with the language because I am a Dutchman and therefore it’s not always clear to me what is really meant when certain things are said I find them always very interesting, very amusing and a joy to listen to.
And the reasons for that are the mostly very relaxed, amusing but always professional manner Dave and Johnny leading the shows.
And listening to the questions they asked the guest or guests I can see that they prepared themselves very well.

So let the shows keep coming.

I don't think....I do. I don't have an opinion because I went to hear my first show KNOWING they were going to be more fanstastic than I would have ability to come into contact with any where else. I enjoy the playful dynamics of the speakers.
I've only heard about 4 ats shows so far.

Seeing as you've already started a condensed easy to reference list...up to program 75 (or so) isn't it about time you updated the condensed list here: www.abovetopsecret.com...
?

I know your busy....

This was done by one of our members, Silent Shadow. I have U2U'd him to see if he will update it and has the time. As the shows are IN SEQUENCE on the ATS MIX SHOWS forum, it is really a duplicate effort. It is very simple to see the shows there.

Thanks for your comments.

The show is very good,

It is refreshing to have the Humour of Johnny and Dave as well.

But... But... and I think its probably a reflection of the main audience of the show and its target demographics, it can seem a little dumbed down as said sometimes.

I have a few development areas for consideration...

Maybe the shows guests could be interviewed for longer?

Is the time frame truly long enough to really explore a topic to satisfaction?

I am not suggesting cutting out the Johnny Dave Skeptic User sightings content in any way, but the actual interview should maybe be extended and therefore a longer show in all.

Hey if its Pay per minute for some of the good guests... well other very well known shows inter-space the interviews with adverts/music etc... I am not encouraging at all to have the mix full of adverts, PLEASE NO, but a break 1/2 way through with a very limited SINGLE advert from one of the sponsors would be ok if it allowed a full interview, and exploration of the topic.

Also maybe it would be a break for the guest, if in-fact longer appearances would warrant that for their happiness in taking part...

Even if this is not Viable with all guests a seasonal special or such like could be trialled?

Also when we are asked to give questions to the guests, should not the community as a whole choose our choice of the questions posed?

Maybe something like the star system in the caption contest... if workable that would be more community driven, though I do think this feature is really good allowing ATS as we currently can, to put forward questions is already wonderful!

Last thing as mentioned by others already, challenge some of the guests with opposing research, or dig into some of their statements, if only lightly.

That surely is the nature of ATS, if the Guests came and posted here they would be jumped on and flamed almost immediately as we all have been... are they "special" in not being debunked?

Obviously we want guests to be repeats and willing, but it will bring the truth closer and allow us to feel the strength of their convictions, in some of the information they are putting forward.
This would certainly wrong foot if a intelligent but respectful query is made anyone just hyping something?

Just my 2c as they say.

Offer enough Mullah or bragging rights and you can interview me, I once talked for 20 minutes on the inside of a ping pong ball to 50 people with 4 minutes notice of the topic

Oh lastly can we have a Photogallery of the guests all wearing Tinfoil hats, that being they have to send a picture of one before coming on the show...

The last two paragraphs are meant only in jest except for the tin foil and the ping pong ball experience.

Elf.

PS
When are we getting the Queen Lizard on and Bush will be a real possibility soon as I cant see the speaking circuit being very good for him...

Thanks for such a detailed response. Here you go.

But... But... and I think its probably a reflection of the main audience of the show and its target demographics, it can seem a little dumbed down as said sometimes.

As we have said numerous times, we have a tremendously intelligent community here at ATS with subject matter that sometimes deals with IQ about 125 or so. With all due respect to our friends at C2C, ATS MIX was designed to be an Alternative Topics Show with the edge of The Daily Show. It is not so much “dumbed down” as make it entertaining enough to have people stick around long enough to see what ATS is about and, somewhere down the way, begin to appreciate the intelligence that truly is the members, their posts and passions.

Maybe the shows guests could be interviewed for longer?

To make the shows a managable file download size and stream size, we must stay within 90 minutes. This is not an option but a necessity. Most publicists only allow 45 minutes with their clients, unless special arrangements have been made. The majority of our interviews last 45 to 60 normally, which is plenty of time depending on how detailed the guest gets with their answers. We have several guests that can make their answers so detailed, that one answer alone could kill 10 minutes by itself. The problem with this.... somewhere along the way we are going to lose the audience, except for the diehards. We try to ask as many questions as we can within the allotted time we are given.

Now, the Jim Marrs interview lasted over 3 hours. We will be breaking that down into 2 shows with the majority of the 90 minutes being Jim and us only.

Also when we are asked to give questions to the guests, should not the community as a whole choose our choice of the questions posed?

We have threads where the members can pose their questions normally. We do not have the time to ask the members which questions they think we should ask. Johnny has over 20 years research experience and I 35 with public relations. Depending on how a guest responds and how expansive their answer is, depends on which question or questions we pursue. Sorry, it is always going to be our call.

Last thing as mentioned by others already, challenge some of the guests with opposing research, or dig into some of their statements, if only lightly.

We have taken numerous guests to task in a respectful manner. We are not 60 minutes, nor do we want or intend to be. Our initial mission was to take our Alternative Subjects and Topics and approach them with the levity and humor of The Daily Show. If it hadn’t been for untimely mergers, that is exactly what turned 25, 30 or more year media professionals on to us in the beginning. It is a winning formula that has garnered millions of subscribers and fans around the world.

Oh lastly can we have a Photogallery of the guests all wearing Tinfoil hats, that being they have to send a picture of one before coming on the show...

Here’s mine .....

Thanks for your comments.

Thank you Dave for such an honest and complete reply indeed. I do understand exactly what you are saying in relation to what I brought up. I suppose we would all like our own personal ATS show to our preference and that's unrealistic and would be boring for many if it was based on our own personal likes.

As said I think its a good show, and hopefully you can keep the balance right between listeners and the ATS personality as such.

Really looking forward to the long interview cant wait for the upcoming Jim Mars one...cool.

Oh so all covered But... But ... lol...except maybe just one more development area....

I always find its best to colour co-ordinate my Tin foil with my attire is less noticable outdoors

I'm STUNNED at what ATS has done here with radio. There is simply no place on the net, anywhere, at all, whatsoever even vaguely in comparasion--

SilentShadow...I didn't mean to be critical. Sorry, OCD, --hands over mouth.

Dave, about the in order list on ATS Mix forum. Am I in the wrong place or did you forget to (!). blushes and ducks.

because.....

uuuuuhhhh.
No their not-(are they?)-I haven't found the magic link yet but at ATS Mix Shows they move around anytime anyone posts a comment.

Of course they are not static and do move depending on folks finding them, making a comment or two and bumping them. Silent Shadow initially did what he did on his own time and under his own direction initially. We didn't know or were made aware of it until it was up. It took him a great deal of time to do it.

As I said before, we do not have time to keep it updated. If you want to volunteer if Silent Shadow doesn't want to fool with it..... simply send me a U2U with the proper BBC coding and I will go in and bring it up to date. This is actually open to anyone who wants to do this. I may even throw in some ATS POINTS, braggin' rights and publicly thank whomever on an ATS MIX Show. So, whomever sends it to me to update, THEY will get the goodies. REMEMBER, it must be in BBC code as what is already there.

EXAMPLE of what constitutes the proper BBC CODE from the last one posted on ATS MIX.

ATS.MIX: 40 – The ATS MIX Sting With The "FAKE" Ross Perot

Which Is This BBC Code (The "]" is at the beginning is intentionally backwards so it would show and not be considered a programming command line).
