I know it is out there, but it is possible to mess up an election. This rule was enacted so a brit couldn't get to power. It is there, as are other parts of the Constitution, to protect your rights and the country as a whole. That is why it is the one of the greatest documents ever conceived.

God Bless America and let an full blooded American run this great country. I hope the truth comes out in the wash.

In my opinion 'soil' should be the amendable part of the constitutionally stated requirement of a U.S. President. I don't believe it's necessarily the 'soil' part that's in question, when debating a candidate's true intention and character.

I believe the original intention, of said Presidential requirement, hinged more on the candidate's 'will to sacrifice' and what may be his true intention, as well as his complete loyalty. Is this person willing to give his life and soul for his country? What if he is put in the unfortunate position of having to choose?

Therefore, I believe the constitution should be amended. Rather than requiring one of the Presidential elect's parents to be American, I believe both parents should be U.S. citizens - whether born, immigrated, elected, etc - no matter the soil he/she was born upon.

This way, we can better assure the candidate hasn't been conditioned, or prepped by an outside source of militia or government agency. At least it would decrease the chances.

The 'soil' has nothing to do with it. Our greatest influence comes from our parents, or legal custodians.

Think about this scenerio:

Let's just say that our Constitution was written in such general terms, that anyone born to at least one American would be allowed to sit in the position of the President of the United States (a.k.a. 'Most Powerful Position in the World").

Given this knowledge, and having immediate access to laws and bi-laws of the United States (a.k.a. "most powerful nation in the world"), what would keep you from sending a 'Secret Agent' into the country to impregnate an unsuspecting, gullible and single American woman?

Once the child(ren) are born, you can have the bastard child(ren) deported and educated in a foreign country that is not monitored, nor bound, by the United States educational or court system.

So, in other words, the children can be educated and filled with anything you wish, as long as they are back in the U.S. before their 18th birthday to declare U.S. citizenship and/or sign for selective service; essentially, produce a 'Manchurian-like' agent to embed himself into the White House?

Scary, huh?...oh wait a minute.......(to be continued)

It's my belief that people still carrying on about this simply can't cope with having a brown-skinned President.

WTF? It does NOT matter what colour-color the President of the USA is. The fact that he/she/it has_to_be a *natural born citizen of the United States Of America*.

Berg was on mainstream am radio in Phoenix last night (550am). A very interesting conversation. He seemed pretty honest IMO. He brought up a few good points.

1. Think of how many times you have to show your Birth Certificate. School, Drivers License, Passport, etc. This really should be no big deal for Obama to produce.

2. A certificate of live birth is NOT a birth certificate.

3. He would immeadiatly drop the whole case if Obama would produce his BC

4. He is a Dem

And personally I'm getting a little sick of members bashing members for posting this topic. It doesn't mean they are for or against Obama.

If there wasn't some legitimacy why hasn't the case been thrown out?

Is it possible, that in this case, if there is no proof of a registered birth on American soil, that the Vice President Elect would become President?
I really have no idea, as an Englishman, simply taking an interest.

Horsegiver.
