Germany marks pogrom that led to Holocaust

Chancellor Angela Merkel is calling on Germans to stand together against racism and anti-Semitism as the nation marks the 70th anniversary of the Nazi pogrom known as "Kristallnacht" or "Night of Broken Glass."


Germany's biggest synagogue at the Rykestrasse in Berlin is shown in August 2007.

1 of 2 Merkel has stressed that it is not enough to remember the events of November 9, 1938 through memorials and ceremonies but "we must always think how it was that it could come to this singular event, the Holocaust."

why is it that we must always think of how the holocaust happened? why should we reason with genocide? How do you think this happened? Is it happenening right now? Yes, it is. Somehow we have figured out a way to move it to a prison system so all the people we don't like are just sent away as if they were part of this to which we do not know except that they broke a rule which may not be in any way related to what is going to happen to them, but we simply do not care because we are feeding a monster so that it doesn't eat us. Face it, prison is sick, we are sick, we need change. If we can not even admit this problem exists and that it is a problem we are all going to lose hope.
