More bailout money will only stop the bleeding for the short term and is certainly not the answer. The big 3 have been slow to adapt to new and improved forms of management and production. They are just now getting it. To little too late.

Quality has suffered for decades.

Unions have had a stranglehold on the companies for eons. Unions kept demanding more and more even when the companies started falling down the crap shoot. The union leaders only work for themselves.

The big 3 will mismanage the bailout money just like they have mismanaged their companies.

I live in a portion of Ohio the once employed a great many of these hardworking people and now, there is nothing left but empty facilities and unemployment. A bailout will not bring these jobs back.

The problem is that it is hard to give out 700Billion to banks and other financial institutions saying that we cannot let them fail, and then turn around and tell the big 3 that they are not worthy of the same thing. Sure they need to fix the way they do business. Sure the Auto Workers Union needs to be destroyed and rebuilt. But the financial sector is the same way, and the government had no real issue propping that dying system up.
