Recent Ufo Sighting - Looked Guarded

I've been a long time lurker, and even had an account at one time, but I can't remember the username anymore.
On November 3rd, 2008, at 05:30 AST I spotted a triangular shaped object, with a few lights, red and white, heading south, and then banking east. It looked to be lower than most airplanes, and there was no sound apparent.
What really shocked me was two white lights following the UFO, forming a triangle. It looked as if they were guarding it. They seemed to be traveling faster than a normal airplane, and all three crafts stayed equidistant apart the whole time.
Anyone have any ideas what this might be?

Did it bank as in tilt when it turned or did it turn flat?

I live in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in Canada.
The main object appeared to remain flat, but I am just judging by the lights, as I couldn't see the actual body of it, but the turn itself was not a sharp turn, it was a rounded (for lack of a better word, I'm quite tired at the moment) turn. I could not tell about the two other objects, as all I could see with them was the single lights.
