Being someone who looks at everything very analytically, I found Obamas acceptance speech almost depressing. Not the words that came out of his
mouth, but the look on his face. It is hard to describe. There may be so many emotions running through him that it did not accurately represent the
feelings he held inside.
Also, maybe he was trying to keep the image in accordance to the way the media painted him (as an easy going, calm and articulated guy).
But his face was not one of great grattitude or like "wow, I should be damn proud of myself for being the first black man elected President of one of
the greatest nations on earth." Again, maybe the campaign trail took such a toll on him that he was seriously sick of making speeches. That could
be true, but I just found his face with no relief.
It almost looked like he just got told something he really did not want to hear. Watching him throughout the whole process, I thought he smiled just
as much if not more than all the other candidates, but I did not notice one during the speech. I may be wrong as I did miss part of it, but again it
seemed like there was something holding him back.
Maybe it was himself.
Did anyone else notice anything of that nature?

Maybe you saw a glint of guilt on his face, The guilt that he has a whole nations hopes on his shoulders..............And yet knows he will turn his
back on them to carry out the elites orders !!!
I too hope he is a saviour, But from all the reading i've done here on him the last few days i'm now starting to have doubts.

His mother, like mine, is a "white" person, from Kansas, and has been to Hawai'i. HAHA at least I can relate, huh? Anyways, stuff like this makes
you feel really bad when you see those people going crazy and you realize how many lies you have told to get to the position. Maybe he was
emotionally clarified by seeing that with his own eyes?

I wouldnt take all you have learned here to form an accurate opinion of Obama.
Every time i see an Obama is the antichrist thread, I just shake my head at ATS. But free speech is free speech... Even if its religious nonsense.

saw the speech also and didn't notice him any different than prior speeches.
if he had been smiling, yelling victory, or something else, many would post a thread on how smug, arrogant,or "scary" his speech was.
the man can't win for losing with some people. what a surprise this thread is. wait, not really.

I thought he was humbled.
I think the enormity of what he has done (becoming the country's first black president) finally struck him as he walked out on stage to that HUGE
crowd of adoring supporters. I have performed before audiences and there is a power that comes from people yelling and cheering for you that is hard
to describe. I don't know how many people were there, but it was a SEA of support and love. Pretty overwhelming.

Interesting! Obama was either humbled, or shamed. The feeling I got while watching Obama accept the upcoming presidency was that he was humbled by the
power of the people (lol?)
But lately, I don't know. Maybe he was told things or to do or say things that he couldn't tell the world about. One thing for sure- someone has to
be pleased and someone has to be disappointed. Either way- Obama, who sold so much hope- might be dead soon, killed by whichever camp he
disappointed.
We'll see just how independent the latest American president is or if nothing has changed in the kingdom of the PTB.

I too hope he is a saviour,
sorry. I don't know if you mean I hope he is going to be a savior or not, but I dont in anyway believe he is or should be our "savior."
It is really sad when people put so much of their faith on a man.
he is going to be President. that is it. He can not change things in your life. Only you can.
Why don't people realize that?

Have i belittled him in anyway? Are you serious? Are you that insecure that you feel the need to protect him from...nothing?
I was just pointing out what i saw. I dont find your post in anyway related to the OP.

Absolutely, i should have mentioned that. But, it would seem to me a joyful response would be a first reaction. I just really did not see much joy
in his face. now that is just my opinion, but that is what it is.

I saw that also. And I think it was expressed in his speech when he said that the goal was not to elect him, but to change things.
He said specifically that it was not the end, but the start.
www.chicagotribune.com...
I know you didn't do this just to win an election and I know you didn't do it for me. You did it because you understand the enormity of the task
that lies ahead. For even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime -- two wars, a
planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century.
Edit: I think he realizes that he is now responsible for implementing the change he promised. He realizes he is completely on the line, and a vast
vista of work lies ahead, or he will look very bad. Not a surprise to him, I am sure, but certainly not purely a pleasure.

that is a good point also, but again, he just finished a tumultous campaign that lasted 2 years! 2 long, long years! thats a long time! and then to
ultimately achieve your goal...seems like a time for some celebration. I wouldnt expect him to come out dancing like M.J or anything. But mayb e a
little more relaxed and uh, i dunno a smile?
its like..lets celebrate a little! like take a deep breathe... and sigh of relief. you made it bro!
maybe it is impossible to tell from one speech. the seriousness of it was just a little...unexpected?

Obama is the MTV president, much like George W., no substance. Obama looks good on TV, sounds good, as long as someone is writing for him. But when he
when he has to think on his feet, he falls back to his socialistic indoctrination.
He is the Hollywood president. God help us when he jumps in and starts redistributing the wealth.
I wonder, is he going to take all of Opraha's money and give it to the poor?
By the way, just because some of us have the opinion that he is not the best thing since sliced bread, don't try to make us to be racist or unfair.
The mans friendships, words and actions have shown us where he comes from. He can stand there smiling until his face breaks, but he is what he is.
It is too bad that he lost his grandmother, for this, I hope well for him and his family.

I think it is exaustion from the campaign, coupled with the sadness at losing his grandmother and the fact she wouldnt get to see him as president,
plus relief that it is over and trepidation that it all has just begun. He is going to be President in some very interesting times..

He looked like a man that has worked very hard to arrive where he is today, and who has no illusions of the difficulty of the years before him. He
did just lose his grandmother, with whom he was close to, but even without that factor, I would have wondered had he seemed overly cheered. He is
already doubted by many due to his comparable youth and potential inexperience. Had he appeared too joyful, I would have been a bit concerned
that perhaps he was not aware enough of the weight that his new position will have. But that did not happen, and I was pleased with his manner.

are you replying to anyone in particular?
firstly, I did not vote for him. I voted for the constitution party and alot of his policies basically defy the constitution. That being said, I
believe the man deserves a chance.
I am willing to let our checks and balances system play its course hoping anything done will be done by working together. Something the man has
already shown a knack for.
So whoever it is you are replying to (off topic btw), I think you should reasses your outlook.
Oh and btw, you can thank the last 8 presidents and congresses for ushering in an age of socialism...

again, though, putting yourself in his shoes, you dont think you might have been a teeny -weenie more joyful you were just elected the next
President of the United States of America?
even knowing how sobering the economic outlook is I just wanna tell the guy, yo, brutha, you just won, go have a beer! Lets worry about the world
tomorrow.
thats what i would have done if i were a friend, anyway.
who knows, maybe he went out afterward and got plastered? ...
