President Obama : Fresh Face for War on Iran

www.presstv.com

Barack Obama's top advisers are setting the stage for a military action against Iran over its nuclear program, new reports have revealed.

The emerging consensus on Iran in US foreign policy circles underscores the fact that the differences between Obama and John McCain were purely tactical, according to the World Socialist Website.

While millions of Americans voted for the Democratic candidate believing he would end the war in Iraq and address their pressing economic needs, powerful sections of the American elite swung behind him as a better vehicle to prosecute US economic and strategic interests in the Middle East and Central Asia-including the use of military force against Iran.

“This should commence the first day the new president enters office, especially as the Islamic Republic and its proxies might seek to test the new administration. It would involve pre-positioning US and allied forces, deploying additional aircraft carrier battle groups and minesweepers, [and] emplacing other war materiel in the region,” it stated

War in Iran is only for money. Iran is beautiful and so are its people.

Obama recites Bush on Iran
The US President-elect Barack Obama has accused Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons and lending support to terrorist organizations.

"Iran's development of a nuclear weapon I believe is unacceptable. We have to mount an international effort to prevent that from happening." Obama said at his first press conference since winning Tuesday's presidential election.

Obama also said, "Iran's support of terrorist organizations, I think, is something that has to cease."

Atleast Obama is letting you americans down early.

Doesnt the u.s have more connections and sponsor terrorists regimes across the world?

I never heard of Iran attacking Afghanistan and Iraq or dropping atom bombs on innocent civilians not once but twice.

Well people probably voted for a change, but they aren't going to get one, at least not from their elected presidents.

Change is coming though, not long to go now.

Possible Israeli attack against Iran worries EU - 4 hours ago

ANKARA – 'A possible Israeli strike against Iran is not completely off the radar,' a senior European Union diplomat says. Iran's intention to purchase Russian made S-300s anti-ballistic missiles could push Israel to a quicker offensive, according to diplomats

With the entire world is still celebrating the election of Barack Obama, it may not be the best time for pessimism about the future, such as fears of a possible Israeli attack on Iran in two months.

“A possible Israeli strike against Iran is not completely out of the picture,” a senior European Union diplomat told Turkish media here. “The perfect time (for Israel) is between now and Jan. 20 (Obama’s inauguration day).”

The international community is concerned about Iran’s nuclear program, suspecting Tehran may produce nuclear weapons, which would trigger an arms race in the already unstable region. The diplomat said that while the possibility of an Israeli attack is low, it is clear that when Obama takes up his post on Jan. 20, it will go completely off the agenda. “Israelis would consider a move such as this before Bush and Cheney leave,” the diplomat added.

Very sad. I hate to see more lives wasted.

At least it might shut up the "he's a Muslim!" crowd, but that's paltry comfort.

I would love for any of you to show me a quote in which Obama stated he wanted to go to war.

So, if Obama doesn't take a stand against Iran, he's weak just like everybody said. However, if he does take a stand, he's a liar.

You guys really win either way I guess then, huh? How convenient. Diplomacy people.

There's a difference between "unacceptable" and war.

absolutely correct,he is weak for not waging war against a country who poses no threat to either America or any other country that surrounds it...and has surrounded it for quite a few centuries.Iran isnt a threat in the slightest.Do they want to build nukes? maybe...who could blame them when they have israel wishing for their destruction every few weeks. Can they? very much doubt it....Should they? damn right they should,id be building a nuke asap if i was in irans shoes.

Google is your friend. I'll just link the first hit that came up (there are TONS of others if you need more proof):

www.cnn.com...

By the way, when does the bigotry you stated that Israel has perpetrated equaled calling for the destruction of Iran? Two totally different things.

Why am I not suprised, everyone was sick of Bush and all the corruption so the perps have put a new face in town, young, black and honest. Once again the people of America are being sold down the river. So many people have put their faith in Obama thinking he will change everything well unforyunately he wont, its business as usual as if it would be any different.

The perps are hell bent on war and more war, they see it as their way out of the countries debt problem, make war, make money, ransack countries of their natural wealth and its sorted. Its just what the Nazis did and now the US is poised to do the same, all that military hardware has got to be used for something and it will.

America has already staked its claim on the Worls or should I say the perps in London that own it. Its a dam shame because people will be expecting Obama to wave a magic wand to put everthing right and I wish he could I really do but knowing who's behind the scenes nothing will change.

I wonder if say Ron Paul had equal air time and won the presidency, would he pulled the troops out of afghanistan and Iraq, etc, or do you think he would of continued the same rhetoric?

He would end up doing whatever "they" wanted him to do once he got in office. Doesnt anyone get it?

I voted for Obama...but i have always wondered in the back of my mind if it was the right decision. During his acceptance speech he said a couple things that sent chills up my spine. I was waist-deep in the moment of watching history being written right before my eyes...up until he began talking about how as President he would always be honest...even when we disagree with him, he will be honest. When things are going wrong...he will be honest. That might not sound that bad but for some reason it sent chills through my body as if i was watching someone who was prepared to take over the world....but not in a peaceful way...i cant explain it. But as for Americans, Obama is a fresh breath of air...and black children/all children can grow up in a country where they are no longer limited by the invisible ceiling known as racisim.

In certain cities it's not such an invisible ceiling. Personally I was against Obama at first, but he got the votes, so I say we let him show us all this change he was preaching. I know how to lose well, unlike some people I've heard, talked to, and read.
I've also heard many people talking about how Hitler pulled the same tricks that Obama did, but I've yet to see any proof of that.
As for Iran, I think Israel will throw the first punch and expect America to back them up. We did after all help start them, so it'd only make sense we're there to help when they start something they may not be able to finish.

For an analysis of what Obama will probably do regarding Iran, take a gander at this thread over in the Above Politics forum of ATS:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

It is sobering for those who voted Obama, and disquieting for those who opposed his election for the wrong reasons.
