Democratic leaders in the U.S. House discuss confiscating 401(k)s, IRAs

This is called seizing pension plans. It was done in argentina this year to help shore up their failing economy. Everyone knows our federal Government would totally mismanage the whole thing. I haven't read every post on this thread, just chipping in my 2 cents....wait ...I might need those...give em back. If something like that gets passed, then you can believe our country is only one step away froman IMF takeover. Lets see, how can the Feds spin this to look like they are doing us a favor? Anyway you color it, it is a seizure of pension plans. It is a last act of a desparate economy. The fact that they are talking about it, should give signals to everyone here. Shore up your defenses, get out your wheelbarrows, money is worthless.

This was briefly discussed on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory last night and it was determined to not be true.

It was taken out of context and an article circulated making the issue sound much more realistic than the plan really is.

Which is exactly why no one can provide on shred of evidence.

I am posting an anonymous reply. This is my first to this website. Many of the replys to this story seem to be frightened by what they deem to be yet another Government intrusion. And then there are posters who seem offendedby these first posters.

Why would anyone be offended if someone else was afraid for their freedoms, their livilhoods, their property, and their quality of life???

People say FACTS FACTS FACTS. This was not just some Professor from The New School For Social Refearch in NY who just happened to show up. She and her ideas have been cultivated towards an agenda.

Rahm Emmanuel has written since 2006 about this issue, the professor herself is from a Marxist school and has a very articulated plan to do BOTH Confiscation/Redistribution AND get rid of the tax benefits of 401(k) and IRA. It shouldn't matter if it is "ONLY" companyand not private 401(k)'s. We shouldn't want anybody's property to be taken from them. This is a kind of divide and conquer reply to this thread: "It ain't my 401k it's his so I ain't got nothin to worry about".

Third Congressman Miller (D) of California has also recently stated he want to see ALL these issues pushed forward. In the America that many of us grew up in, there shouldn't be ANY TALK about confiscation of anything. PERIOD.
All of a sudden we're not suppossed to talk about certain political issues , or criticize Obama, moving to the "Center" is being pushed in the media as the one true path. You can't say socialist because that is a racist statement etc.. etc.. now we "DISCUSS", in a centrist way of course, the whys and wherefores of the confiscation of our and others property. Wake up America. The next steps will include "Reducation Camps".

What part of it wasn't true the part where MICK cant wrap his little mind around that these were discussions that DID in fact happen that these are ideas that are floating around the halls of congress or that this was a bill that has never passed?

Considering you've basically admitted you have no reason to believe any of this, can you explain why you've continued to post it all over the board as fact?

The only thing I have said is a fact is that these kind of talks happened and that I disagree with them and didn't like the language in them as it threatens our money. I never claimed their was a bill passed, you said that or keep asking me to prove it.

I never said a bill passed either. I was just asking what kind of proof you had to complain like you are and accuse anyone of trying to steal money. If you can't provide the proof, I will have to ask that you recant your previous attacking comments such as:

The FACT is the word "Confiscate" is appropriate when tampering with our money in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM whether they siphon from it, skim off it or make fancy level 4 abstractions amounting to what can be said in one simple word and CONFISCATE would be that word.

This is one of many issues we knew this guy did in Illinois and will continue to do BUT YOU didn't want to hear it. Not because it isn't true, but because your need to be RIGHT was in jeopardy.

Yeah this is how Obama is going to pay for that tax cut we were all supposed to get, Ill end up losing a hell of a lot more than they gain but hey IT'S SELFISH NOT TO SHARE! This is already looking worse than Bush replacing one liar with an even bigger one.

When I was a kid, believe it or not , anything having to do with the US Government was solid. I mean if it was a Congessman then you just knew he was a man of honor and they usually were. If it was Government backed like US Savings Bonds you just thought that kind of stuff was terrific a sure thing.

Today I think anything and everything having to do with the government is HIGHLY suspect INCLUDING ANY SO CALLED FAVORS

Did you want me to find more in this thread where you made false accusations and incorrectly inferred assumptions? I suppose we can jump to at least 2 or 3 other threads where you have done the same. In fact, I think we could probably make an entire thread just based off of incorrect MAINTAL assumptions.

You can find as many as you want mick, the fact is that is the kind of discussions floating around the halls of congress and the fact they are at all means I have plenty of reason to be concerned. Unless you can prove they aren't thinking about such things, then I guess you can keep mis representing my posts. I already know what Obama is about and if you don't mind, Ill be preparing for an even more criminal administration than the one leaving office.

I simply don't trust a liar and obama is a liar and that I have proven on these boards more than once.

Except I thought what they were discussing was ending the subsidy, visa vi no tax, on 401(k). But that's just me trying to find someone elses' opinion of it besides the obviously skewed Carolina Journal.

-You make a claim

-You support that claim

-Then if people rebut your support, you rebut that

You are stuck on step 2. You never support your claims and then always try to tell everyone else it's their job to refute it. That's not how arguments work on Planet Earth.
