Frederick Valentich UPDATE
Dated Thursday February 9th 2012

Five years after, a real bizarre development:

One evening in August 1982 near the village of Iman, Primorskiy kray, Far East, Russia Lieutenant Colonel Igor Valerianovich Kazantsev, Commander of a frontier guard detachment near the hamlet of Iman, received a report of a suspicious man arrested by soldiers from his unit near the Soviet-Chinese border. One of the soldiers, Nikolay D (later to become a resident of Sevastopol, Crimea) in 2003 wrote to the Simferopol based “Secret Doctrine” Newspaper, confirming that he took over the watch on that date to watch over the Russian-Chinese border.

Approaching evening near the foot of one of the hills they saw smoke from a fire and soon detained a man about 40-years of age, dressed in a cowboy shirt, thick wide trousers, outfitted with “complete tourist gear”. The man assured the KGB sergeant that he had the necessary permission from local authorities of Primorskiy kray to do some prospecting in the area. Orders were given to detain the mysterious “geologist”. He was taken to the unit duty officer. During a search the soldiers found a very powerful searchlight and a strange dark elongated object, like a small flask with two dozen dots printed on its upper section without any visible pattern. The dots formed a strange image. Nikolay D paid special attention to the strange dot-like markings on the object.

The stranger showed a document indicating that his name was Sarychev (possibly an AKA, real name being possibly V. Sosnin). He also showed a letter from Academician Vsevolod S Troitskiy, correspondent-member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Chairman of the Commission for Study of Anomalous Phenomena. (Such a commission did truly exist). The man stated that he was engaged in prospecting in the area, but soon admitted under the pressure of interrogation the he was indeed involved in “UFO research”.

“I am Frederick Valentich, Junior, pilot. I was captured together with my plane Cessna-182 by a UFO on October 21 1978 145 miles south of Melbourne. Because of very limited time and of extreme danger to my state, here is what is most important.

What was proposed to me was beyond my imagination. Later I came to the conclusion that several factors influenced my psyche, at first, the reality of the UFOs and their pilots, and secondly, their proposal for me to become the pilot of one of their aircraft (!).

Here is proof of contact with another civilization and the man who achieved this is I, Frederick Valentich. That was what I thought. But the most tempting was their fantastic proposal for me to stay in my same physical body, so I have not aged over my current 25 years of age (my age when I signed such a “contract” with the aliens). This proposal “eclipsed everything” even those few purely human affections I’ve had. At the moment of the deal I remembered only that my mother had died, I am single with no children. I didn’t even remember my aunt and two of my ex girlfriends I have been close with, this is additional evidence of a strong psychological influence put upon me.

The giant UFO I have to work in is a “cargo ship”. The crew, except those humans which were captured just like me, are 2-3 aliens. All belong to a civilization located in the Pleiades constellation and represent an interplanetary organization with 6 civilizations from Orion, Swan and the Big Dog constellation; our Solar system is also part of it.

Like us they’re also albumen organic entities, breathing oxygen and of similar body build.

Answering such questions like, what are they doing here, they stated on numerous occasions that they were engaged in research work. But according to my own observations that is only a mere screen covering their “real” activities and to calm the conscience of other earthlings who signed such compelling contacts like mine.

Our basic load from Earth---is liquid oxygen obtained from plants installed onboard the ship. These “researchers” impudently steal the most valuable part of Earthly atmosphere. And idiots like me are actively helping them in this. The main route of our craft—Earth and Jupiter’s satellite Callisto where a huge constantly operating base is located.

Oxygen is loaded into balloons made of plastic-metal. Volume can be estimated in weight---the large balloon weighs no less than 110 pounds, the smaller ones—2 times less than that. The maximum quantity of balloons that our ship has taken for one flight to Callisto is more than 12,000 large and 5k small balloons. Imagine how much oxygen they take from Earth! We make 2 flights per week sometimes. God help me and those who find this letter! Russian or Chinese---I ask to give this capsule to the Australian embassy and to the representatives of our embassy, give it to scientists for further study!!!”

To establish the authenticity

To establish the authenticity of this material evidence, it was sent to several scientific research laboratories of the USSR for secret analyses. Results of the research exceeded all expectations. Documents with the results of the study were compiled, stamped and signed by the expert laboratory of KGB USSR, document dated September 29 1982. Institute of Astronomy of USSR dated October 10 1982. Institute of the Technical Physics USSR, Chelyabinsk-40 (nuclear military industrial center), and dated November 12 1982, all the documents were classified TOP SECRET.

Here is the opinion of a member-correspondent of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Dr. Nechai PhD, addressed to the special expert commission in the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. “The amazing physical and mechanical characteristics of the materials, their uncommon chemical compound and structure allow to make the following conclusions:

- …materials obtained by the technologies, unknown yet to humankind and apparently outside the Earth. The plate is the source of unknown radioactive emanation of colossal penetrating ability and spoils all other types of cinema and photo films…

- Many other facts, described by Valentich were summoned to the systematic analyses according to modernized authorship-detection program created in our institute. The result, the author, Frederick Valentich couldn’t invent all of that alone and even to extract that from known science fiction literature, actually being taken onboard a UFO in 1978…”

What happened to the material evidence next is the following. The mysterious plate was transferred to the Australian embassy. A special commission was created there; a graphic, logical study was made. Style and grammar of the letter was compared with other material written by Valentich, obtained from the Melbourne Air Club (like flight records written by Valentich). The Australian commission came to the conclusion that the text on the plate and the records in the flight journal from the Melbourne aviation club belonged to one and the same person---none other than Frederick Valentich. The evidence was so strong that it was ready to go to court.

Unfortunately for humanity the cover up was effective and everything was classified TOP SECRET, possibly with the participation of the American CIA. Where the alien capsule with the letter is now, is not known, possibly in the USA (in a deep basement under the Pentagon?).

Perhaps even more alarming is a case investigated by Spanish researcher Manuel Carballal. According to the testimony of a number of witnesses, a young man who identified himself as Frederick Valentich, the Australian pilot who mysteriously disappeared in 1978 was alive and well in 1990 at Plaza del Charco, a seaport square on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Displaying an Australian passport to prove his claim, Valentich told those with whom he spoke on several occasions that he now belonged to a group of humans who had been “recruited” by extraterrestrials. It is also worth noting that the supposed Valentich showed no signs of aging, and resembled the photos circulated around the time of his disappearance at the age of 20.

HOAX! HOAX! HOAX!

I'm not even going to bother trying to find the thread this has been pointed out before.
It drives me nuts that people keep repeating the same BS stories.

Of course, the account of Frederich Valentich's mysterious disappearance is well documented - as opposed to this crappy piece of science fiction.

I am sorry if this has been discussed already - I did read most of the posts, but some cursorily - but didn't air control alert the authorities shortly after losing contact with him? Wasn't there a search party organized? And wouldn't they have found at least some small indication that a crash had occurred - kerosene floating on water, pieces of machinery?
I know, I know it it is theoretically possible to crash without apparent traces, but I also know it is extremely rare.

As for the hypothesized thirty minutes-long green flash.... Really.

Not only would that have been major news around the world, at least in science circles, but it doesn't fit with the eyewitness testimonies that the light was *above* V.'s plane (some said "following" it, if I am not mistaken).

I have been fascinated by this mystery for years now, because it seems truly inexplicable.
As fas as we know.

It has been suggested that the flight recording had been tampered with and the last sentence has been deleted
Apparently he said he was covered in a bright green light and boiling heat

Hi

After 34 years, the National Archives of Australia has just released the Department of Transport's file on the disappearance of Australian pilot Frederick Valentich, to my co-blogger, Keith Basterfield. Keith has posted on the contents of the file, together with instructions on how to read the digitised version of the file for yourself at:

If you read the documents posted above, on page 14, a letter is shown discussing pieces of the airplane being washed up on shore on May 15, 1983. Page 16 shows pictures of the pieces.

Many of the other pages I've made it through I can't read. Terrible handwriting.

Love the story though. Creepy transmission.

Thanks for the link great to be able to read the original doccuments. In the associated blog it mentioned a meteorite shower could he have mistaken the meteors for ufos and got hit by one?

here is another example of small plane that turned back before getting harrased by UFO phenomena. what happen if Valentich turned back before he got harrased ? maybe he will survive ..

i think FV crashed his plane either from panic or from engine trouble or both. the UFO contribute to his confusion thus to his crash. note that UFO doesnt mean alien or flying saucer but certainly an Unknown Aerial Phenomena.

theres lot of documented cases where small planes crossing sea or large body of water have been accosted by UFO phenomena.. Examples like the 3 UFO escorting a small plane flying over a lake, small plane encounter large pyramidal UFO over a lake/lagoon in pelotas, Mayday call of small plane over dominican/puerto rico strait telling the tower that an unknown object deliberately preventing them to fly to P.Rico, etc

“Airship” clear gray color, like dull metal, 30 meters high (altitude of plane 60 meters), speed about 100 Km/h, 3,000 meters away, about 1.50 meters in size, moving SE/E. Witness was flying a Cessna 206, taking off from Soure (on Marajó Island across the bay) for Colares… [Note: This was one of the few daytime sightings. Pantoja said in 1999 he was so frightened that he returned to Soure and stayed there until he was calm enough to fly to Colares;

Most of the sightings that the team investigated happened at night. One of the few daytime incidents was reported by Ivaldo Pantoja, fifty-five when we talked to him in 1999. At that time he had been the chief pilot for the Pará state government for more than twenty years.

On November 23, 1977, he was working for an air taxi company and was flying alone in a six-seat Cessna back to Belém after a trip to Marajó Island on the other side of the bay. It was about nine thirty in the morning and he was halfway across the bay.

“I saw an object near the water at a distance and it made me afraid because it was so strange,” he told us. “It was like two soup plates together. It was silverish and was very close to the water.

“I had heard a story about someone being sucked out of a plane by a UFO and I got really scared and wanted to land on a beach. This thing was about ninety degrees to my left and it would go up and down. I was so terrified that I turned back and landed at Soure in Marajó.”

It took him more than a half hour to calm down and resume his flight home.

Pantoja (at right, with his wife Rosalha) was one of at least six civilian pilots who reported seeing UFOs in 1977 and 1978. He had several other sightings, including one when he was with Sergeant Costa.

“This was at Baía do Sol [a village between Belém and Colares],” Pantoja said. “We saw a bluish light over the water that would zigzag, then stop and go around. It wasn’t all that big but it was fast.

my suggestion to those who tried to rationalize FV's disappearance by using rational means and dismissing the UFO phenomena explanation is that they read the history of pilot sightings that also similar to this case.

i suggest reading NICAP pilot sighting database to see the massive amount of high strangeness incidents all over the world. UFO that play around with aircrafts, foofighters, daylight disc and noctural lights. Off course you shouldnt check out your mind when you research UFO, even the late dr Hynek said that most of UFO sighting can be explained as natural/man made stuff, but its the unexplained sightings that worries him because there are NO rational explanation for them at all.

As an addendum for FV case, i suggest a reading as comparison a case of Australian Sea Fury intercepted by 2 large object (detectable on Radar too) , that case never got solved either.

A person shouldnt be skeptical to the point of fanatic and throwing out every non related atuff just to debunk something he never research. People like Condon, Klass and Randi are trying too hard to debunk the phenomena thus making them a closed mind fanatic themselves, they are slaves to the material science , trying to explain everything by science , their god is science, anything that cannot be explained with science are blasphemy. this is the new religion nowadays.

This is an interesting case. Some people came forward recently and said they had at the day he disspeared been driving near coastline where his plane was headed, and observed a light plane being followed by a green lumineous light. They didnt bring this news forward till recently for fear of ridicule i guess. makes me wonder what happened to him.

another addendum to my post regarding FV case..

As i said before, i think the UFO phenomena was trying to scare FV thus resulting in panic and crash. they dont directly cause the crash but they contribute to pilot fear and influencing his judgement.

this case make me think about the notorious accident prone road where lots of people have accident there at night. That case (in UK i think) got a witness that said he was in a turn when he suddenly saw a body lying on the road thus he swerve suddenly and when he stop he checked the road but there is nothing there.

this case also happenend a lot here in asia where there exist a stretch of road thats "haunted" with that kind of things, like something that stand on the road or roadside that make you brake suddenly in suprise/fright. Sounds like a movie ? sadly its not since that happened here.

Off course things like these maybe scarce in western world nowadays. and skeptics never venture outside doing research. a skeptic doing research alone in nighttime on haunted area or UFO flap area wont be skeptic anymore, its different disbelieving people's account from safety of your own home, its another thing to go camp out alone in field at nighttime for days in the middle of wilderness with no population for hundred miles..

The point im trying to make is this : these phenomena use different form tailored to the area' belief and culture. But their M.O are the same that is scaring lonely people at night/dusk/dawn and trying to misled them into making mistake.

Scullydana49, great post
- here's another great addition from Keith dealing with UFO/UAP sightings around the same time and area:

A CATALOGUE OF UAP REPORTS FROM VICTORIA, BASS STRAIT AND TASMANIA, AROUND THE TIME OF THE DISAPPEARANCE OF AIRCRAFT VH-DSJ AND FREDERICK VALENTICH, ON 21st OCTOBER, 1978.

Cheers!

Thanks. I have never seen these news stories. Very interesting.

It is notable just how many interesting UFO stories there actually were in the newspapers back then.
Now it seems like there is hardly ever anything interesting at all.
Certainly, you don't expect many cases like the (still unsolved) Valentich disappearance. But look at all the other articles. Makes you wonder if "ET" completed its surveillance project and decided to go home.

This is the anniversary of Valentich incident, right?
