An interesting correlation here between failure of the monsoon rains and the end of major ruling dynasties in China. China is where the research was
conducted, but it wouldn't be much of a stretch to conjecture that the same could be true of any continent reliant on El Nino and the monsoon
rains... Indian sub-continent (Cambodia etc.), Central America?
So, as suggested in the title, are we still edging towards global catastrophe of the alien/reptilian/solar-radiation/pole-flipping/war and pestilence
kind? Or could it just have been that the sub-tropics were conducive to the development of early civilisations due to their climate and reliable
rains. Could failure of the rains and nothing more glamorous than that have been their ultimate downfall??!
