the racism definately exists. among the black circles at my college, a girl got a text from her black friend that said "drink plenty of water, there is going to be a bunch of salty crackers walking around today. If i had a post if obama lost that said sometthing along the lines of "'n-word's will be bitter" i'd get hung.

I also asked the black students why they voted for him. The only reason they could muster up "and most of the time it was after my prompting" was the tax policy and the vague "change". 97% of black voting for him doesn't help change any notions either.
black people are just as racist as white people. BUT we still have to get along. period. But, just saying, whites are defiantely allowed to hold on to this notion until it is proven otherwise. just like in accounting, conservatism is best.

This thread has really gotten side tracked. The OP was asking why when he even questioned anything about Barack, would he be called derogitory names such as racist, whitey , etc. Personally after the last 8 years none of us should be taking any politician at their word and should thoroughly question anything that comes out of their mouths. I find the racial tones used by all sides a bit ridiculous. If your white and question Obama, your called racist, whitey, honky or a variety of other derogatory slurs. Even when your question is regarding legitamit standings this man has went on record stating. If your african american you get called a sell out and uncle Tom. Never has someone who claims to be a uniter done so much(even if inadvertantly) to divide us. Why is this type of hate speech (yes that is what it is) not adressed by him and his campaign? Supporters of this man should not allow this to continue, and every time an excuse is made for it thats what you're doing is allowing it. Yes there are some who have slung some racially motivated propaganda, but not everyone who questions something is thinking this way. Despite this when he is questioned, 90% of the time a supporter will start slinging these type of insults and others will jump on the bashing bandwagon with out erver pointing out the flaw in the insult. This forum has been littered thickly with these type of responses. I am white, but for the record so is Obama, at least 50% so. The other half of his race is a mixture of african and arab. (look at his father, who is a mix himself) As far as I am concerned, his race is unimportant, but if one wants to squabble, he's more white than anything else. Which is what I find so moronic about both sides of this racial issue, and yes calling some one a racist or whitey when one never makes a racist statement is a hatefull racist remark in itself and in its very nature is the type of propaganda Barack's supporters claim to want to stop.

VERY well stated and you seem to understand exactly what I'm getting at.

I had a battle with the same thing when this discussion came up at a dinner

I watch the Blacks in the welfare and unemployment lines in NY saying that Obama will help them , But the Jobs are all taken by Illegal aliens , And Obama did not say a word about it during the run for office , Why is it a black man would not say anything about the illegals taking jobs from the blacks , And don't give me they are doing jobs Americans don't wanna do, So I say he was a double talker ,and got yelled at by a young black lady , So I say let the Illegal aliens take your jobs and the black lady got real mad and started yelling race baiting words that would provoke a fight so , I left it alone , Just goes to show the blacks are upagainst there own and there own will not help them so its the White mans fault again Go figure

Respect? That is going a bit far. This is a democracy, we (civilians) are not legally bound to respect ANYONE if we do not feel like it.

But he does deserve to be given a chance, morally speaking. I honestly do sympathize with him a bit, I was very anti-Obama before, but now the race is over. Truth is the deck is stacked against him at this point, he is taking over a very difficult job and things will be rough for a while.

Let's all remember what he looked like with black hair. That is going to change pretty soon.

Hey! Relax man.

I have a lot of african american friends here in my unit (who prefer "black", to all you whiners out there) and I haven't experienced anything like what you're talking about. Sure, I didn't vote for him, but you know what - I just hope he does what he said he would, I don't care what color or religion he is.

Also.

If someone randomly approaches you (in person) and is all like "Wooo! Obama!!!" and you think you're getting made fun of - It's easy enough to say, "Really! Good! What are his economic policies? or What does he plan to do to fix the current national security situation?" It's funny to see the blank stares.

Good luck to you.

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrright. I guess just give it time, because I believe I do have it in me to become that way, given the way "Black" people have been acting as of late.

Stay tuned

I can say "black people" right? Or am I separating us more?

Welcome to a new era of racism. Since Obama has been elected, I cannot question, comment, or have an opinion about him without being called "cracker, whitey, slanted, etc."

__snip for brevity __

part of what yu're seeing is people overly seneitive about THEIR OWN racism, so they reflect it on others, but for many, lets face it, democrats and liberals have NEVER, EVER been about freedom and individuality. if you are not exactly like them, beleive the same crap they do, buy into the same garbage, etc, then you're obviously wrong to them, so it doesn't even matter.

worse, when [resented with logic arguement let alone just a dissenting opinion, they will browbeat, name call, undermine or simply just jump up and down with their fingers in their ears screaming la-la-la-la-la.

but this is part of the political hotbed as well with this president. some peple sincerely want to do good but they're oversensitive or brainwashed. While yu may say "i disagree with some of his economic policies" all they heard was ''n-word' 'n-word' 'n-word'' and go on a crusade.

yes, I said 'n-word', and in basic conversation, and not in a racist statement. look how probably 90% of the people here flinched when they read that word. I'm sure I'll get warnings and U2U's up the wazoo just because I said 'n-word'. I'll know who all the tightends are then, so its a good thing to know.

So what do you do? voice our opinions anyway, defend them as best you can, and grow a thick skin. One of the biggest thing that bush and clinton did to America was to so totally radicalize and indoctrinate both sides along political lines that its personally sickening. Want the key clue to it? look on the online dating sites and you'll literally see women and some men even saying they just can't stomach a conservative or republican. When someone is so radical and selfish in their beliefs as that, just pay them no mind, they're already a mindless drone and no worth talking to. You can't change their mind, and they can't change the topic.

MAN! I live and work in the south east and I have noticed this big time!
Allot of blacks I have talked with on a daily bias are coming unglued the couple of days.

I voted Obama and when someone I work with asks and I told them I was accused of lying. I have been told "I don’t trust white people" and "Now I can say we know what it feels like"

Please do not hold this against black people. Race is a matter of where geographically are ancestors adapted and lived.

This is the same hate that has gripped us before, once in Germany, in Darfur, in Russia, in Armenia, and here in the USA

when Obama addressed the nation he said "anything is possible in the here in the USA" Seeing this happen has shattered many of the beliefs held and passed down from previous generations and in doing so it has created a belief vacuumed.

Please stand for love and compassion even though it may soon very easily be able to turn to hate and aggression.

The same thing will happen with Sex and gender when democrats (Clinton bush's + Obama’s each have two daughters) and control women would end up controlling the congress and senate.

It is the same age old reason they would circumcise us.

Bush has laid the frame work for an Obama empire and Israel is transforming our government and will prepare us for a war against Iran.

Whites will call this the Antichrist and blacks will not like this as it will not be about the same underlying belief. In the eyes of many it will be about not letting a black in the white’s house.

Obama will be the leader of the most biased nation against Arabs and will assist cause in Zionist leaders.

The bail out of the auto industry will be the next phase into socialism, god pray we get representation and representation on the boards of the banks we lent to so that they could buy up the smaller institutions.

If time comes to pass the Clintons would help fake Obama’s death to cause rally of support for refusal the meet bushes terms for handing over the presidency. Why do you all think they have met recently and homeland security is picking over who will be nominated for executive positions?

Say that was faked and that Obama went the way of Tupac. (Alive!)When people find out he is still alive they would only have more evidence for their antichrist conspiracy. Who remembers Hillary Clinton’s stars being upside down?

In nature men tend to take leadership roles because of the capability for aggressions, chemical process not present in females. As beast women do not tell me what to do, it is the rule of the wild. In a democracy enforced by police action sex wins. - For this reason gangs may never vanish until it is accounted for. Men will find suppression and hatred would find it self here as well, like the kind you see against women in the Middle East.

Whets more so for all of this is that Muslims said they have had their last profit and would reject a new one, Christians are waiting for the antichrist and Jews are waiting for their Christ.

Please educate your self about the sustainability and security of Islamic finances and understand the mechanics behind why we went into finance turmoil as Islamic countries celebrated development and economic prosper. Terrorism has little difference on economic control and potential. Islamic finances are fighting an age old war against banks originating in Jewish hands before Christians could participate in banking. Who do you think the Knights of The Templar where anyway? Bankers who had to vow poverty and spread their king’s economics into the Arab world.

Believing barrack is Muslim is such a convenient diversion. This hatred could actually be used by racist white supremacist to suppress and destroy latter on.

So make sure you Let ALL BLACKS KNOW YOU LOVE THEM!!!! MARRY ONE IF YOU CAN!

I don't want to rip him. And wow, what an ass the poster is about whining huh? No, maybe not an ass, just clueless.

What I'm getting at is back in the day, we could all sit around the table and disagree on politics. Now, I'm called names or frowned upon because I'm questioning the all great Obama.

I'm glad he became president. Now, blacks (and white trash) no longer have an excuse to sit on their ass and collect welfare. If a black man that was raised in Indonesia can run our Country, I'm sure a lazy welfare bum can get a job and support his/her family. I really never knew how hateful and spiteful blacks were until Obama was elected. It's been 200 years, I never owned a slave, nor would if I could because I don't believe that way, but now, 200 years later, I'm being throw into their hatred and racism wheather I like it or not.

This has NOTHING to do with Obama, this is about RACISM that has sprung from him being elected. I hope it cools off and people realize that he's just a man, not a "black savior" put here on the planet to pay back whitey.

Sorry, but this is what I dealt with today on more than one occasion, and I employ more than one black person, and have never used the "N" word, and don't even think on that level, period. It has been a true awakening that all of a sudden I know how they "really" feel about apparently being kept down for the last 200 years. This is a crazy time, that I hope passes. I really hope that people of all nationalities soon see Obama as an accomplishment of hard work, not "a brother coming up"

And please, this is not about race, black, white, whining, who won etc. It's about "change", but not in our Country, in it's people, and the peoples attitudes towards one another. If you don't have anything intelligent to say or add, click "back" on your browser.

Umm..I hate to point this out but you equated black people with "white trash" and if I am to take your point litterally then you're saying that ALL black people draw welfare like ALL "white trash". Yet you say you're not racist.

Look..it's not even so much about the fact that some of our ancestors held slaves...it's about the fact that there is are at least three generations of African Americans in the United States who had to fight tooth and nail for basic Civil Rights. It's so easy to look in from the outside and say, "God, get over it already" but untill you've been forced to fight for your Civil Rights then you'll never be capable of understanding the anger, sadness and rage that that struggle evokes in you. Are they allowed to be angry about the fight they are continuing to fight - hell yeah they are.

I don't know who called you a whitie or a cracker but the best way to combat that kind of attitude is to smile and go about your way. And just so you'll know - African Americans are still very repressed in America today. I work for the Employment Security Division - about 90% of my Clients are African American and I assure you, they aren't all lazy welfare bums. They want to work more than most of my white clients - they just aren't ever given the opportunity. However, that's a subject best left for a new thread. My general feeling about you is that you're a young white male who probably has lived a sheltered life in a nice suburb. If so...get out of the house. Join Peace Corps or something. And please read your posts twice before you publish them. You're ranting about racisim yet your own words reek of it.

Yes, exactly. I see a mixed amount of folks through our store. Illegals, blacks, whites, arabs, you name it, they come through our door. Many (that are political aware of course) can have a great conversation about Obama, the election, policies, etc. However, you better be done talking when certain black people come in, because they are loud, and flat out "on the obama boat" so to speak. And, like you say, if you ask them what his policy is on "subject A", those people don't know crap about crap.

I was told by one black man that Obama was intentially "groomed" for the presidency, and was told NOT to do anything in his political career to be noticed. Funny, that could actually be true ;-) lol!

I stated that because that is what I see everyday. I have many black friends and employees. If I thought of blacks as "welfare" people, why would I have them employed? That was a statement about all walks of life having their "dregs of society" within, so you kinda answered your own remark.

All races have great successful people, and the not so great.

It's just at this particular time in history, since this Obama thing, that certain class people are becoming much more vocal, in a bad way.

Glad you said "IF" cuz I never said my fight was exclusive! I deal with actual facts! You can stop defending your racism and just admit what you were infering came from a place you didn't know existed in you and work to exorcise that demon! I would support your effort and show you the respect all humans deserve, but as of now you are being devilish! Be honest! I believe you can do it!

Peace!

Blacks are very proud that Obama has won the presidency and, consequently, will defend him against direct criticism and verbal attack. To attack his worthiness, you are attacking them. This halo effect will abate when everyone realizes that he is more white than black because his culture and outlook on life is essentially that of middle class whites. His plans will be constrained by funding, congress, and world events. Some don't realize that and will be sorely disappointed. This is especially true of the poor, uneducated folks who are expecting miracles of personal finance at public expense.
That this response has a racial basis is undeniable, but a racial reason for partisanship is still only partisanship. If you would question GWB and his contrived war, many in my area would call you "unpatriotic" and argue with the same vehemence as those that call you racist. I have even been called "unpatriotic" by some typical armchair commandoes and members of the local militia; unproven patriots at best who know virtually nothing about war and the backgrounds of those they attempt to intimidate.
It was suggested earlier that you ask baiters about policy to disarm them. If you criticize policy, rather than the man, it will make the criticism easier to swallow. I found that when I state my actual reason for opposing the Iraq war, that our troops are being misused as occupiers and slaughtered by factions of the oil cartels, there is not the knee-jerk reaction to condemn me as an "unpatriot." Certainly, you should be able to question how policy positions stated in the campaign will affect our lives.
While you may be despondent that Senator McCain is still a Senator and Winky Palin has gone back to defending Alaska from a Russian invasion force, as of right now you really have no grounds to criticize the Obama presidency, as such, because it will not begin until late January.

Actually, it is a republic. And yes respect. Something people don't have much today because they take much for granted.

Respect should be given to any human unless they do something to negate it.

That is a philosophy I live by. And usually it works well.

You wouldnt know a racist if you saw one in the mirror.

You keep posting my entire posts, so rather than fixating on your opinion of what I wrote, I suggest you go back and actually read the original statement.

The fact that you insist on making that a racist statement on my part regarding blacks is ridiculous. You cant make me feel "race guilt" because I dont have any. I have met more non- "white" racists in my life than white ones, and when you cry racism over nothing at all, you merely make yourself look like a whiner. You dont make me look bad.

You can think what you want of me. You can even draw little pictures of me in a sheet with eye holes cut out if it makes you feel better about the world. It doesnt change who I am.

That may have been what you meant but it is certainly not what you said. Sorry kiddo, my point remains. If you want to discuss racism make sure your language doesn't include it racist remarks. Otherwise, you end up looking just as racist as the people you claim are. As for the dregs of society becoming more vocal in their support of Obama, it may be for the simply fact that he has promised that they will longer be over looked. Wouldn't that make you more vocal as well?

There is no denying that we are in fact talking about racism on this thread. So, call me a racist if you want. But I do understand your point as well. I never knew blacks held such a grudge against whites until this election. From reading the responses, a good deal of people are also noticing a "change", but not in the right direction, yet.

To respond to posters about what I'm talking about politically...

See, I'm a member here of the greatest conspiracy site on the planet. I've watched every 911 video, Zeitgeist type film, you name it. I'm not what you would call a conspiracy nut, I just feel that getting all angles and as much info you can is good, then you can sort out the stupid stuff. I don't believe that you can trust our government, politicians, period. The two party system sucks. If I had a nickel for every person I educated this election, to the fact there were actually "other" candidates running besides McCain and Obama I'd be rich. I've been without TV for about six years because it's just a mind virus tool and a waste of life, so I did not follow any of the political ads, debates, etc. You know how you can tell a politician is lying, simply when their lips are moving.

Regarding Obama (which he is only ONE political topic at the moment that I talk about), I have discussed with others things like where he was born (the whole birth certificate thing), what, if any, will his muslim upbringing effect his thinking and decisions for our Country, his radical associations, tax plans, etc. These are all VERY important issues, that somehow everyone seems just OK about. It's an interesting time in the world for us to have a muslim raised man who's grandmother, brother AND sister all say he was born in Kenya. Black is NOT the issue on these matters. The MAN and his past IS THE ISSUE.

Now when Bush was the topic, everyone would listen intently about Haliburton, Osama Bin Laden relations, etc. But try talking about any "questionable" relations that Obama has had, and it's like "Game On" for people and you quickly become the unpopular one in the room.

Let me spell this out so it's the last thing an Obama supporter will read before they start posting...

I do not "dis-like" the man. He is polished, has a good image, speaks well and is very educated. Certainly (to me anyway) the better choice. Is he presidential material? Not one of us can answer that for another four years. Does he have some red flags in his past associations? Hell yes he does, and that my friends should not simply be shoved under the rug because we all love him so much. Remember, we ALL have a stake in this world, so let's all keep our eyes wide open in every direction.

His election was the perfect storm. Why?
