www.reuters.com

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev could resign from his post in 2009 to pave the way for Vladimir Putin to return to the Kremlin, Vedomosti newspaper reported on Thursday, citing an unidentified source close to the Kremlin.

Medvedev Wednesday proposed increasing the presidential term to six years from four years, a step the newspaper said was part of a plan drawn up by Vladislav Surkov, who serves as Medvedev's first deputy chief of staff.

I keep watching closely news from Russia, because everything what happens in the world right now is happening from hands of Moskow. US is in the situation that they "dont have president" for almost 3 month, and Russia has take huge steps forward in Global scene.

This article is related to Medvedevs speech yesterday, where he make proposal in changes in presidential institution...

Do they need to move Putin back to position as President, now, when there is many signs of international crises coming? Medvedev has show that he is capable to handle the job, but is it necessary to whole coalition of SCO, that there is only one spokesman from Russian side?

I think that they dont need to do that, not because the public, and arrangement of "two headed eagle" has worked well so far. But maybe this proposal back ups this arrangement, if it comes neccessary, and situation is going far more worse in near future.

Interesting leak indeed!

US does have a president for the next 3 months, Bush has to inform Obama of everything.

Putin is bad news but there is not a thing we can do about him as the old USSR will rise again.
